heal.abstract	Η παρούσα ερευνητική εργασία αναφέρεται σε δύο ελληνικές πόλεις που υπήρξαν κέντρα βιομηχανικής δραστηριότητας, και κυρίως καπνικής παραγωγής, τον προηγούμενο αιώνα και ασχολείται με τα σχετικά κτίρια της εποχής εκείνης. Σε πρώτη φάση, γίνεται αναφορά στο ρόλο της βιομηχανικής κληρονομιάς για έναν τόπο και τους ανθρώπους του σε επίπεδο ιστορικό, κοινωνικό, πολιτισμικό, οικονομικό και ταυτότητας και μνήμης, αλλά και στη σύνδεση της με τη σύγχρονη πόλη και το σχεδιασμό της με ενέργειες όπως η διατήρηση τέτοιων κτιρίων και η επανάχρησή τους. Στη συνέχεια, ακολουθεί μια αναδρομή στην ιστορία του ελληνικού καπνεμπορίου, της ευρείας απήχησης και ανάπτυξης της καπνοπαραγωγής στη χώρα και στα εξέχοντα καπνικά κέντρα που αναδείχθηκαν. Έπειτα, μελετώνται οι δύο πόλεις, του Αγρινίου και του Βόλου, σε επίπεδο ιστορικό, κοινωνικό, οικονομικό και πολεοδομικής εξέλιξης, τα βιομηχανικά τους κτίρια και την έως σήμερα εξέλιξη και υφιστάμενη κατάσταση αυτών. Σε τελικό στάδιο, επιχειρείται η συγκριτική θεώρηση των δύο πόλεων όσον αφορά στη διαχείριση των βιομηχανικών κελυφών που έχουν παραμείνει.	el
heal.abstract	This research paper refers to two Greek cities that have been centers of industrial activity, and mainly of tobacco production, in the past century and deals with the relevant buildings of that time. As a first step, reference is made to the role of the industrial heritage for a place and its people at a historical, social, cultural, economic and identity and memory level, as well as its connection to the modern city and its design through actions such as conservation of such buildings and their reuse. Then, there is a retrospection of the history of Greek tobacco trade, the wide impact and development of tobacco production in the country and the prominent tobacco centers that emerged. Then, the two cities, Agrinio and Volos, are studied, at the level of historical, social, economic and urban development, their industrial buildings and the evolution and existing situation of them. At a final stage, we are attempting to compare the two cities with regard to the management of the industrial shells that have remained.	en
