heal.abstract	Η παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή διπλωματική εργασία στοχεύει στην εκτενή και ενδελεχή παρουσίαση κάθε πτυχής των Maritime Logistics, και χωρίζεται σε τέσσερα μέρη: Στο πρώτο μέρος µε θέμα «Logistics & Εφοδιαστική Αλυσίδα» (Logistics & Supply Chain) γίνεται λόγος για την ιστορική εξέλιξη των logistics, τον σκοπό για τον οποίο χρησιµοποιούνται, καθώς και για τις λειτουργίες τις οποίες πλαισιώνουν αυτή την εφαρµογή. Αναφέρονται επιγραμματικά στοιχεία για την μεταφορά και διανοµή µέσω των logistics, το σύστηµα διαχείρισης αποθεµάτων, τον τρόπο αποθήκευσης, διακίνησης υλικών, ενώ τεκμηριώνεται και ο ρόλος των logistics στα στρατηγικά δίκτυα επιχειρήσεων και την εταιρική στρατηγική. Ιδιαίτερη αναφορά γίνεται και στην έννοια των Green Logistics. Στο δεύτερο μέρος της εργασίας µε θέµα «Logistics & Ναυτιλία» (Shipping Logistics) γίνεται λόγος για τις παγκόσμιας εξελίξεις στον τοµέα της ναυτιλίας. Αναλύονται, επίσης, τα χαρακτηριστικά των θαλάσσιων μεταφορών και η ανάπτυξη των συνδυασμένων μεταφορών µέσω των logistics. Τέλος, γίνεται ιδιαίτερη αναφορά στην εφοδιαστική κάθε μιας εκ των τριών κύριων κατηγοριών πλοίων ξεχωριστά (tankers, containerships, bulk carriers). Στο τρίτο μέρος με θέμα «Logistics Λιμένων» (Port Logistics) γίνεται λόγος για τον θεσµικό εκσυγχρονισµό της λιµενικής βιοµηχανίας και τα στάδια ανάπτυξης των λιµένων. Αναλύεται, επίσης, ο ρόλος των λιμένων ως κρίκοι στην εφοδιαστική αλυσίδα και ο τρόπος µε τον οποίο οι λιμένες συμβάλλουν στην ανάπτυξη των συνδυασμένων μεταφορών, καθώς και η λειτουργία των σταθμών εμπορευματοκιβωτίων ως ενδοχώριων λιμένων (dry ports). Τέλος, παρουσιάζονται αναλυτικά η πολιτική και οι δράσεις της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης για τους λιμένες και τις θαλάσσιες μεταφορές. Στο τέταρτο και τελευταίο μέρος της εργασίας, αφού γίνεται μία αναφορά στη σύγχρονη ελληνική ναυτιλία, υπάρχει η μελέτη περίπτωσης (case study) της εργασίας που αφορά τον εμπορευματικό λιμένα Πειραιά στο Νέο Ικόνιο και το Σταθμό Εμπορευματοκιβωτίων (Σ.ΕΜΠΟ.) του συγκροτήματος εγκαταστάσεων του ΟΣΕ στο Θριάσιο Πεδίο.	el
heal.abstract	This diploma thesis aims at the extensive and thorough presentation of each aspect of Maritime Logistics, and it is divided into four parts: The first part, "Logistics & Supply Chain" refers to the historical development of logistics, the purpose for which they are used, and the functions that support their application. Abstracts are reported on transportation and distribution through logistics, inventory management, storage, material handling, and the role of logistics in strategic business networks and corporate strategy. Particular reference is made to the concept of Green Logistics. In the second part of the thesis, named "Logistics & Shipping", there is debate of global developments in shipping. There are also analyzed the characteristics of maritime transport and the development of combined transport through logistics. Lastly, particular reference is made to the logistics of each of the three main categories of vessels (tankers, containerships, bulk carriers). The third part, “Port Logistics”, refers to the institutional modernization of the port industry and the stages of port development. It also analyzes the role of ports as links in the supply chain and the way in which ports contribute to the development of intermodal transport, as well as the operation of container terminals as dry ports. Finally, the European Union's policy and actions on ports and maritime transport are presented in detail. In the fourth and final part of the thesis, after a reference that is made to modern Greek shipping, there is the case study of the work concerning the cargo port of Piraeus in Neo Ikonio and the Container Terminal of the premises of the OSE in Thriassio Pedio.	en
