heal.abstract	Η διπλωματικη έχει ως αντικείμενο την προστασία και ανάδειξη του χώρου της Αρχαίας Δημητριάδας και επικεντρώνεται στο Ανακτορικό Συγκρότημα της πόλης. Η Αρχαία Δημητριάδα ειναι κτισμένη στον εσωτερικό μυχό του Παγασητικού Κόλπου, κοντά στην περιοχή του Βόλου και αποτελεί μέχρι σήμερα ένα χώρο μεγάλης αρχαιολογικής-ιστορικής σημασίας που δυστυχώς παραμένει περιορισμένα επισκέψιμος και ελλειπής παροχών εξυπηρέτησης κοινού κι εργαζομένων. Το master plan της πρότασής μας, αποσκοπεί στην ενοποίηση των σημαντικότερων μνημείων της αρχαίας πόλης μέσα από την ανάδειξη του αρχαίου ιπποδάμειου συστήματος, και τη δημιουργία ενός πρότυπου αρχαιολογικού πάρκου. Εστιάζοντας στο χώρο της κύριας επέμβασης, και συγκεκριμένα στον άξονα που συνδέει το βόρειο λιμάνι της Δημητριάδας με το ανάκτορο, σχεδιάζουμε την είσοδο στον αρχαιολογικό χώρο με ένα κέντρο επισκεπτών, το οποίο περιλαμβάνει χρήσεις εκδοτηρίου εισιτηρίων, μικρό πωλητήριο, αναψυκτήριο, αίθουσα πολλαπλών χρήσεων, αλλά και μία κατακόρυφη κίνηση η οποία καταλήγει στη γέφυρα που οδηγεί τα άτομα με κινητικές δυσκολίες στο διάδρομο κίνησης εντός του Ανακτόρου. Οι ευπαθείς τοιχοποιίες του Ανακτόρου, και τα κονιάματα που διατηρούνται, καθιστούν τη στέγαση του χώρου για την προστασία του από τα καιρικά φαινόμενα αναγκαία. Η πρόταση για την προστασία του γίνεται μέσω ενός στεγάστρου μεταλλικού φορέα, που αποδίδει αφαιρετικά τη μορφή του αρχαίου ανακτόρου, υψώνοντας 4 πύργους στις θέσεις που βρίσκονταν οι αρχαίοι, και αφήνοντας ελεύθερο το χώρο του αιθρίου, ακριβώς όπως στην αρχική μορφή του κτιρίου.	el
heal.abstract	The subject of this project is the protection and presentation of Ancient Demetrias, focusing on the Palace of the city. Ancient Demetrias is a settlement that lies on the inner-most place of the Pagasetic Gulf, south of the city of Volos, and constitutes a site of great archaeological importance, which unfortunately lacks basic utilities and functions for visitors and staff. The purpose of our master plan design is to create a connection between the most important artifacts of the ancient city by recreating the ancient Hippodamian Plan by which the streets were organized, turning Demetrias in an exemplar archaeological park. Focusing on the area of the main intervention, particularly on the axis connecting the northern port of Demetrias to the Palace, we designed an entrance to the archaeological site by creating a visitors’ centre, which includes uses of ticket booth, a small souvenir shop, cafeteria, multi-use space, an a vertical movement ending up on the bridge leading persons with limited mobility to the passageway inside the Palace. The vulnerable masonry of the Palace, with the mortars still intact, make the protection of the building from weather conditions a necessity. The proposal for the protection consists of a metal shell that follows the original form of the Palace, imitating the 4 towers that existed before, also leaving an atrium exactly above where it used to be.	en
