heal.abstract | The international scientific community is increasingly concerned about the effects of the greenhouse effect on human health as well as its link to climate change. Since, carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport are expected to increase from 2%, currently to 17% worldwide until 2050, both the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and regionally the European Union (EU) have adopted regulations laying down limits and conditions for effective treatment. In this context, we present and compare the two models in principle, identifying drawbacks and advantages. We present herein in detail a user-friendly structured database which can be used for credible implementation of the European MRV model. | en |
