heal.abstract	Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία καταπιάνεται με το ζήτημα του φόβου ως μέσο και αιτία στιγματισμού του χώρου και του «άλλου», το οποίο διερευνά σε μία ιστορική πλατεία της Αθήνας, την Ομόνοια. Το συναίσθημα του φόβου για κάτι νέο που εισέρχεται ή που αποκλίνει από μια ισχύουσα κανονικότητα, οδηγεί συχνά στο στιγματισμό του, στη βάση της σκέψης ότι αυτό, το επονομαζόμενο ως «άλλο», αποτελεί απειλή. Σήμερα ο στιγματισμός, έχει συχνά την αφετηρία του στις αναπαραστάσεις του δημόσιου λόγου της εκάστοτε κοινωνίας, με αρνητικές επιπτώσεις για τις κοινωνικές ομάδες της διαφορετικότητας στον αστικό χώρο. Η πλατεία Ομόνοιας εδώ και χρόνια αναλαμβάνει από το δημόσιο λόγο μολυσματικές ταυτότητες, σχετιζόμενες με ένα «άλλο» που δραστηριοποιείται εκεί, και τρομάζει ή θεωρείται πως απειλεί τους επιθυμητούς κατοίκους και επισκέπτες της Αθήνας. Η έρευνα σκοπό έχει να συγκεντρώσει κάποια παραδείγματα των αφηγήσεων του δημόσιο λόγου για την πλατεία και των ανθρώπων που τη βιώνουν καθημερινά, ώστε να φέρει σε επαφή την αναπαράσταση με την εμπειρία, και να σκιαγραφήσει μέσα από αυτές το πώς προσεγγίζεται το «άλλο», ο στιγματισμένος χώρος, τις ταυτότητες και σχέσεις που παράγονται μεταξύ των ετεροτήτων, και εν τέλει τις προσδοκίες για το χώρο που τις υποδέχεται. Είναι άραγε δυνατή η ύπαρξη ενός μεταίχμιου χώρου, όπου υπερβαίνεται ο φόβος και το στίγμα για το «άλλο»;	el
heal.abstract	This thesis presents the issue of the fear as a meaning and cause of stigmatization of the space and the “other”. Omonoia square in the historic centre of Αthens, is selected as case study. The sensation of fear of something new that enters or deviates from a valid regularity often leads to its stigmatization, based on the thought that this, which is identified as the “other”, is a threat. Nowadays, the stigmatization often starts from the representations of the public discourse in the contemporary society, with negative consequences for the social groups of diversity in the urban space. Especially Omonia square has received many negative indentities from the greek public discourse, which are connected with the “other”, that is visible there and which is considered a threat for the local people and visitors. My research field has the aim to give some examples of the narratives from the public discourse and from the local people with a daily experience on the square, to bring together the representations and the experiences, in order to “sketch” how the “other” and the stigmatized space are approached, which identities and human ties are produced between the heterogeneities and finally to explore the expectations for the space. Is it possible to have a transitional common space, where the fear of the “other” and its stigma will be mastered?	en
