heal.abstract	Ο Frank Lloyd Wright είναι ένας από τους κορυφαίους αρχιτέκτονες του 20ού αιώνα. Η αρχιτεκτονική του δράση διήρκησε για 70 χρόνια. Έγινε κυρίως γνωστός και αναγνωρίσιμος μέσα από τα σχέδια του για κατοικίες και την φιλοσοφία του για την οργανική αρχιτεκτονική. Το γεγονός ότι ο Wright σχεδίαζε όμως πύργους καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της καριέρας του, δεν είναι γενικά γνωστό. Με μία πρώτη σκέψη θα έλεγε κανείς ότι είναι τελείως αντίθετα με την φιλοσοφία του. Στην παρούσα ερευνητική εργασία αναλύονται δεκατέσσερα έργα. Στην πρώτη ενότητα παρουσιάζονται δύο έργα των Dankmar Adler και Louis Henry Sullivan, στα οποία συμμετείχε o Wright ως βοηθός του Sullivan. Τα δύο αυτά έργα συνιστούν το πρώτο και το τελευταίο έργο της συνεργασίας τους. Στη δεύτερη ενότητα, αναλύονται τέσσερα ψηλά κτίρια του Wright, τα οποία είναι αυτά που συνέβαλαν προς την κατεύθυνση της τελικής ανάπτυξης του πύργου. Τέλος, στην τελευταία ενότητα αναλύονται οκτώ έργα, τα οποία ανήκουν στον τύπο του πύργου του Wright, με το τελευταίο να είναι το μόνο που μπορεί να ονομαστεί με ακρίβεια ουρανοξύστης. Καταληκτικά, μέσα από τη μελέτη των έργων αυτών, επιδιώκεται να κατανοηθεί η άποψη του Wright για τα ψηλά κτίρια και να απαντηθεί το ερώτημα αν είναι όντως αντίθετα με την φιλοσοφία του για την ένταξη στο φυσικό περιβάλλον και την οργανική αρχιτεκτονική του.	el
heal.abstract	Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the leading architects of the 20th century. His architectural action lasted for 70 years. He has mainly become well-known and recognizable throughout his drawings for houses and his philosophy about organic architecture. The fact, however, that Wright used to design towers throughout his career, is not broadly known. At a first glance, someone would say that they are entirely in contradiction with his philosophy. The present research study includes the analysis of 14 architectural projects. In the first section, two projects of Dankmar Adler and Louis Henry Sullivan are presented, in which Wright participated as Sullivan’s assistant. These two projects are the first and last work of their collaboration. In the second section, Wright’s four high buildings are analysed, which contributed towards the final development of the tower. The final section, encompasses the presentation of some other 8 projects belonging to the Wright’s type of tower; the latter is the only one that can precisely be characterised as skyscraper. In conclusion, through the analysis of all these projects, is provided an opportunity to understand better Wright's view concerning high buildings and determine whether they are indeed in conjunction with his philosophy about integration into the natural environment and its organic architecture.	en
