heal.abstract	Αυτή η διπλωματική στοχεύει στην αξιοποίηση των απορριμμάτων στα πλαίσια της δημιουργίας μιας βιώσιμης κοινότητας. Προτείνεται ο σχεδιασμός ενός πρότυπου συστήματος κυκλικής οικονομίας στη βάση του οποίου πραγματοποιείται η ανακύκλωση των απορριμμάτων. Το Zero Waste Prototype συνιστά ένα μοντέλο εφαρμογής αυτού του συστήματος υποδοχής, επεξεργασίας και επαναπροώθησης της ύλης. Ως τόπος εφαρμογής του Zero Waste επιλέγεται το νησί της Σύρου. Πρόκειται για το πολυπληθέστερο νησί των Kυκλάδων που λειτουργεί ως διοικητικό κέντρο αυτής της νησιώτικης κοινότητας και παράλληλα φιλοξενεί πλήθος παραγωγικών δραστηριοτήτων και σχολών τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης. Ταυτόχρονα η Σύρος αναδεικνύεται ως χαρακτηριστικό παράδειγμα ελληνικού νησιού που δέχεται εισροές μαζικού τουρισμού τους θερινούς μήνες, εμφανίζει μείωση των παραγωγικών δραστηριοτήτων ενώ η διαχείριση των απορριμμάτων πραγματοποιείται με παρωχημένες μεθόδους. Το Zero Waste Prototype είναι η υποδομή αυτού του σεναρίου, περιλαμβάνοντας το Εργοστάσιο ανακύκλωσης, το Ινστιτούτο ερευνών και παραγωγής πρωτοτύπων και μια Μονάδα βιοτεχνίας που λειτουργεί χρησιμοποιώντας ως πρώτη ύλη τα ανακυκλωμένα σκουπίδια. Πρόθεση είναι η δημιουργία ενός κέντρου της ύλης που τα απορρίμματα υφίστανται επεξεργασία σε ένα χώρο επισκέψιμο, ένα τόπο καινοτομιών που ταυτόχρονα τοποθετείται στο κέντρο των δραστηριοτήτων της τοπικής κοινότητας.	el
heal.abstract	This design thesis suggests the beneficial use of local waste in order to create a sustainable community. For this purpose, a prototype system of circular economy is presented, which commences from the recycling process and therefore waste reuse. Zero Waste emerges as an experimental model of implementing this system of waste reception, processing and re-introducing to the production and consumer process. The island of Syros serves as the ultimate paradigm for the application of this prototype. In the first place, with more than 20.000 inhabitants it comprises a major population and administration node amongst the Cyclades complex and at the same time it functions as a local production and service hub. Simultaneously, Syros emerges as a typical Greek island receiving a great influx of tourists each summer, with a constant reduction of primary and secondary sector in favor of services and finally implementing outdated methods of waste management. Zero Waste Prototype serves as the infrastructure for this waste management scenario, including a Recycling factory, the Institute of research and Model production and an Industrial unit functioning exclusively with recycled raw material. The aim is to create a center of matter, where Syros waste receives proper treatment, within a place of experimentation and innovation and at the same time a place accessible to everyone in the very center of communal activity.	en
