heal.abstract	Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία επιλέγει να τοποθετηθεί στο κέντρο της Αθήνας, συγκεκριμένα στην περιοχή της Κυψέλης, και να συνδιαλεχτεί ενεργά με το λανθάνον οικιστικό απόθεμα της πόλης. Ο κορεσμός του αστικού σώματος, σε συνδυασμό με την οικονομική κρίση της εποχής, απαιτούν μια αλλαγή παραδείγματος και επιβάλλουν στο σχεδιασμό μια πρόθεση επανεξέτασης των δομών και ανάδειξης μιας νέας διαλεκτικής στην υφιστάμενη ύλη της πόλης. Αντιλαμβανόμενοι τον υπολειμματικό χώρο ως ένα γόνιμο δυνητικό πεδίο καταστάσεων, μπορούμε να ωθήσουμε την πόλη σε μια νέα δυναμική κατάσταση εξέλιξης, επανανοηματοδοτώντας την αστική εμπειρία. Κυρίαρχη πρόθεση είναι η άντληση των εργαλείων της μεθοδολογίας μας μέσα από τον ίδιο τον αστικό ιστό, ο οποίος αποτελεί τελικά και το αντικείμενο μελέτης. Βασικός άξονας είναι η δυναμική διαστολή του δημόσιου χώρου της πόλης, ως τον κατεξοχήν χώρο όπου αναπτύσσονται τα κοινά. Εμβαθύνουμε στην περίπτωση της περιοχής της Κυψέλης, ως τον παραδειγματικό τόπο που μπορεί να υποδεχτεί την εφαρμογή των αναζητήσεων της έρευνας μας. Η σημερινή εικόνα της περιοχής έχει διαμορφωθεί, στο βάθος των ιστορικών μεταβάσεων, ως ο τόπος συνύπαρξης ετερόκλητων στοιχείων, ως ο χώρος συμβίωσης της ετερότητας. Ανασκαφές και τομές στις πολλαπλές διαστρωματώσεις του αστικού παλίμψηστου της Κυψέλης και επανασυντάξεις των σχέσεων με το υπόγειο επίπεδο της πόλης, θα διαμορφώσουν το νέα τοπιογραφία ως φορέα κοινωνικής εγγύτητας και ώσμωσης, δια μέσω των υφιστάμενων δομών. Στη περίπτωση της παρούσας διπλωματικής, το εργαλείο της τομής γίνεται η διαλεκτική μας σχέση με την πόλη και φορέας συνύπαρξης γίνεται ο άξονας του πολιτισμού. Η τέχνη, το θέατρο και ο κινηματογράφος εγκαθίστανται στον δημόσιο χώρο, νοηματοδοτώντας τον και ωθώντας τον στην ενεργοποίηση.	el
heal.abstract	The present thesis chooses to locate itself in the center of Athens, specifically in the Kipseli area, and to actively interact with the city's latent housing stock. The saturation of the urban body, coupled with the contemporary economic crisis, call for a paradigm shift and impose on design a rethinking of city structures, as well as the emergence of a new form of dialogue within the existing urban material. Perceiving the residual space as a fertile potential field of events, we can push the city into a new dynamic state of evolution, resignifying the urban experience. The overriding intention is to draw the assets of our methodology through the urban fabric itself, which is ultimately the subject of study. The key axis is the dynamic expansion of the public urban realm, as the predominant place where the common acts develop. We delve deeper into the case of the Kypseli region, as the exemplary site that can accommodate the implementation of our research pursuits. The present image of Kypseli has been shaped, through historical transitions, as the place of coexistence of heterogeneous elements, as the living space of heterogeneity. Excavations and intersections through the multiple layouts of the local palimpsest and the re-alignment of relations with the underground level of the city, will shape the new topography as a vector of social proximity and osmosis, through the existing structures. In the case of the particular thesis, the design asset of intersection becomes our dialectical relationship with the city, and the the axis of culture becomes the vector of coexistence. Art, theater and cinema are installed on the public space, signifying it and activating it.	en
