heal.abstract	Αφορμή για την επιλογή του θέματος της διπλωματικής μας εργασίας υπήρξε από τη μία το ζήτημα της εποχιακής κατοίκησης που χαρακτηρίζει σήμερα τα ελληνικά νησιά, της μονομερούς ανάπτυξης του τουρισμού και από την άλλη η γνώμη μας ότι τα νησιά μας παρουσιάζουν μια ενδιαφέρουσα, μεγάλη δυναμική και πολλές ευκαιρίες για το μέλλον. Αυτές τις ευκαιρίες και δυναμικές επιλέξαμε να τις αναζητήσουμε στο νησί της Κιμώλου. Μετά την παραμονή μας εκεί, τον Οκτώβρη του 2017, διαπιστώσαμε ότι το μεγαλύτερο μέρος των τροφίμων που καταναλώνουν οι κάτοικοι του νησιού μεταφέρονται σε αυτό από την Αθήνα έχοντας διανύσει συχνά εκατοντάδες χιλιόμετρα από άλλα μέρη για να φτάσουν ως εκεί. Ταυτόχρονα υπάρχει μια τεράστια έκταση αναξιοποίητης καλλιεργήσιμης γης στο νησί, και ένας πληθυσμός που μειώνεται συνεχώς λόγω έλλειψης εργασιακών ευκαιριών. Τι άλλαξε όμως και, το άλλοτε αυτόνομο και παραγωγικά πλούσιο νησί, πλέον εξαρτάται από μια σειρά εξωτερικών ασταθών παραγόντων για να μπορέσει να τραφεί; Αν εξαιρέσει κανείς τους περιορισμένους υδάτινους πόρους, που με σωστή διαχείριση τους μπορούν να φανούν αρκετοί, αυτό που λείπει σήμερα δεν είναι παρά το ενεργό ανθρώπινο δυναμικό, ένα σχέδιο οργάνωσης και συντονισμού των κατοίκων, η γνώση και οι κατάλληλες υποδομές για τον εκσυγχρονισμό του κύκλου της παραγωγής, επεξεργασίας, τυποποίησης και διανομής των προϊόντων. Στόχος μας είναι η πρόταση μιας αλυσίδας παρεμβάσεων που θα μπορούν να αναπτυχθούν σταδιακά μέσα στο χρόνο και θα μπορέσουν να αποκαταστήσουν και να συμπληρώσουν τον κύκλο της τροφής στην Κίμωλο, προσφέροντας αυτονομία σε αυτό το ζήτημα, οικονομική ευημερία και κίνητρα στο νεαρό πληθυσμό να εργαστεί στο νησί και να μην το εγκαταλείψει.	el
heal.sponsor	The main reason for choosing the subject of our Diploma Project was, on the one hand, the issue of seasonal habitation that characterizes the Greek islands today, the unilateral development of tourism, and on the other, our belief that our islands have an interesting, great potential and many opportunities for the future. We chose to look for these opportunities and dynamics on the island of Kimolos. After our stay there in October 2017, we found out that most of the food consumed by the islanders was transported to them from Athens, often traveling hundreds of kilometers from other places to get there. At the same time there is a huge expanse of unused arable land on the island, and a population that is continually declining due to a lack of job opportunities. What has changed, however, and the once autonomous and productively rich island now depends on a number of external volatile factors in order to get “feed”? With the exception of the scarce water resources, which, with proper management, can be solved, what is lacking today is nothing more than active human resources, a plan of organization and coordination of the inhabitants, the knowledge and the appropriate infrastructure to modernize the cycle of production, processing, standardization and distribution of products. Our aim is to propose a chain of interventions that can be gradually developed over time and able to restore and complete the food chain in Kimolos, offering autonomy to this issue, financial prosperity and incentives for the young population to stay on the island. We propose three interventions at critical points in the island that operate in interdependent relationships and that move in all three areas of process production.	en
