heal.abstract	The diploma thesis focuses on the interpretation of the architectural remains of the ancient roman temple of Propylaia Artemis at the Sanctuary of Eleusis. At first, it presents and examines the historical development of the Sanctuary of Eleusis, as a place of worship from the 14th century B.C. till the later Nerva-Antonine era (192 A.D.) and the building phases that formed the area surrounding the temple of Propylaia Artemis at the entrance of the sanctuary complex. Then, it examines the visual architectural remains of the roman temple in conjunction with the studies of the same temple by the Society of Dilettanti (1817) and Anastasios Orlandos (1920) in order to identify their original place and propose a valid representation of the original form of the temple and it’s construction details. The results of the later study are then evaluated and used to propose a guideline on a future restoration and possible reconstruction of parts of the temple, in order to envisage the perception of the contemporary visitor of the Sanctuary.	en
