heal.abstract | The Master thesis deals with the theoretical application of mild forms of energy, on a shipoftype BULK CARRIER BC30K. More specifically from renewable energy sources, mainlyare examinedwind and solar energy. The aim of this project is to reduce the installed propulsion power without actually reducing the ship's capabilities (service speed, displacement, etc.). The challenge for the development of such a solution is to overcome many of the practical problems involved with the useof sails or solar panels on large ships.A ship fitted with such a system as a bulk carrier, tanker or freighter is partly a solar boat and partly a ship with sails. These ships can use wind and solar energy together as power energy and propulsion (along with main engines of the ship), in order to reduce harmful emissions and lower fuel consumption. This means that the use of renewable energy sources on ships are not only good for the environment but also for the economic management of the ship. For each of these renewable sources gets a detailed presentation of the theorywith all accessories in materials and is examined the resulting benefit for the use of each of them to this ship.To extract as much as possible realistic effects, materials used have been tested inlabsand also are currently moving in trade with respective conformance labels and corresponding certificates | en |
