I have studied noise levels, sound sources and their characteristics, through continuous recordings and analyses in Eleusina city (a small city in the Attica region). Then, after dividing the area into noisy, moderately noisy, and quiet zones, I organized spatial interventions which will create the following reversal: in noisy areas they will reduce the noise levels (eg. underground spaces, water walls etc.), while in quiet and empty areas, they will integrate and “amplify” pleasant sounds (musical equipment, bird nests, social activities, appliances to improve the ecosystem, etc.). |
