heal.abstract	Αντικείμενο της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας αποτελεί η διερεύνηση της επίδρασης της οικονομικής κρίσης στην οδική ασφάλεια αστικών περιοχών. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, η εργασία αυτή εξετάζει τον τρόπο με τον οποίο μεταβάλλεται ο αριθμός των νεκρών και των οδικών ατυχημάτων στο πέρασμα των ετών, αλλά και στις χρονικές περιόδους πριν, κατά τη διάρκεια και μετά την οικονομική κρίση. Για το σκοπό αυτό, επιλέχθηκαν 10 ελληνικές πόλεις, οι οποίες παρουσιάζουν διακύμανση τόσο στο πληθυσμό τους όσο και στα κοινωνικοοικονομικά χαρακτηριστικά τους, ώστε το δείγμα να είναι αντιπροσωπευτικό για τις ελληνικές πόλεις. Στη συνέχεια αντλήθηκαν από τη βάση δεδομένων της ΕΛ.ΣΤΑΤ. τα δεδομένα που αφορούν τους παθόντες και τα οδικά ατυχήματα για την εξεταζόμενη περιοχή για τη χρονική περίοδο 1996-2015. Για τη στατιστική ανάλυσή τους επιλέχθηκαν τα γενικευμένα γραμμικά μοντέλα Poisson, τα οποία ακολουθούν την κατανομή Poisson. Η ανάλυση πραγματοποιήθηκε για κάθε πόλη χωριστά, ώστε να διερευνηθεί η επίδραση των χαρακτηριστικών κάθε πόλης χωριστά στις εξεταζόμενες μεταβλητές τόσο των παθόντων όσο και των ατυχημάτων, αλλά και συνολικά για όλες τις εξεταζόμενες πόλεις, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη και τον πληθυσμό της κάθε πόλης, ώστε να διερευνηθεί η επίδραση της κάθε πόλης στο συνολικό μοντέλο. Η διαδικασία αυτή πραγματοποιήθηκε τόσο για τη περίπτωση των νεκρών όσο και για τη περίπτωση των ατυχημάτων. Έτσι, επισημαίνονται οι βασικές μεταβλητές, καθώς και οι τιμές οι οποίες αυτές λαμβάνουν, που επηρεάζουν περισσότερο τον αριθμό των νεκρών και των οδικών ατυχημάτων.	el
heal.abstract	The purpose of this thesis is the investigation of the impact of the recent financial crisis on road safety in the urban environment. In particular, this thesis examines the way that the number of fatalities and road accidents change throughout the years and in the time periods before, during and after the financial crisis took place. For that purpose, 10 cities from the Greek region were selected, which present significant variations on both population and financial / social characteristics, so that they represent Greek cities. In the next step, the required data were collected from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (EL.STAT.), involving the fatalities and road accidents in the selected area in the time period from 1996 to 2015. For the statistical analysis of the data, the Generalized linear model was chosen, following the Poisson distribution. The analysis was performed for each city individually, in order to investigate the impact of each city on the selected variables, for the case of both the fatalities and road accidents, and collectively for all cities, accounting for the population of each city, in order to investigate the effect of each city in the collective model. This procedure was performed for both the fatalities and the road accidents. So, the basic variables, as well as their values, that affect the number of fatalities and road accidents the most, were highlighted.	en
