heal.abstract	Αντικείμενο της παρούσας μεταπτυχιακής διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η ανάπτυξη ενός εργαλείου σε περιβάλλον GIS για τη διερεύνηση της βέλτιστης χάραξης αβαθούς σήραγγας με κριτήριο τον περιορισμό σχηματισμού πλαστικής ζώνης. Αφετηρία για την εκπόνηση της παρούσας εργασίας είναι μια λύση κλειστής μορφής για το σχηματισμό πλαστικής ζώνης γύρω από κυκλική σήραγγα, στον ημιχώρο υπακούοντας στο κριτήριο Mohr-Coulomb (Massinas et al.,2009). Στόχος αυτής της εργασίας είναι ο υπολογισμός της ζώνης πλαστικής παραμόρφωσης και των τιμών της κρίσιμης εσωτερικής πίεσης για πολλαπλά σημεία στο χώρο, σε περιβάλλον GIS. Ταυτόχρονα, με τη γνώση των παραπάνω και την οπτικοποίησή των αποτελεσμάτων στον χώρο διερευνάται η δυνατότητα εύρεσης βέλτιστης χάραξης αβαθούς σήραγγας μέσα από τα εργαλεία που αναπτύχθηκαν. Τα αποτελέσματα της εν λόγω έρευνας υποδεικνύουν πως τα εργαλεία που αναπτύχθηκαν μπορούν να αξιοποιηθούν για την εύρεση βέλτιστης χάραξης αβαθούς σήραγγας, αρχικά σε ένα πειραματικό επίπεδο και πως μπορεί να αποτελέσει πεδίο μελλοντικής έρευνας.	el
heal.abstract	The purpose of this postgraduate diploma thesis is the development of a GIS tool for the investigation of the optimal alignment of a shallow tunnel by a criterion of limiting the formation of a plastic zone. The starting point for the present study is a closed form solution for the formation of a plastic zone around a circular tunnel in the half-circle, obeying the Mohr-Coulomb criterion (Massinas et al., 2009). The aim of this thesis is to calculate the plastic deformation zone and the values of the critical internal pressure for multiple points in space, in a GIS environment. At the same time, with knowledge of the above and by visualizing the results in space, it is investigated through the tools developed the possibility of using the closed form solution for finding an optimal alignment of a shallow tunnel. The results of this research suggest that the tools developed can be utilized to find an optimal alignment of shallow tunnel, initially at an experimental level and that this process can be a field of future research.	en
