heal.abstract | The scope of this thesis is to demonstrate the necessity and utility of business reorganization, using an example of a steel trading company. The restructuring of a company is of course not only dependent on its management but also on its staff. Through individual contributions, all employees are called upon to demonstrate how committed they are to achieving each and every goal of the business leading to company success. The existence of a strategic methodology, together with sufficient guidance from senior management have a significant impact on customers’ perception of the company and competition. Initially, some basic concepts and definitions such as business, process reengineering, restructuring etc are being clarified. The problems that lead a company to seek a solution through reorganization are presented. A breakdown of the different organizational structures that are found today in most businesses follows. After that, a brief historical overview of the reengineering and details of its evolution as well as the growth potential of the business through reorganization are presented. The business process reengineering follows, in this part the basic principles, business processes, and reasons that a business introduces into this business process reengineering are presented. Finally, the steps in BPR (Business Process Re-engineering) are recorded and the benefits of implementing BPR are summarized. In the second part of the work, the company Steel Bros SA, which is one of the largest companies in its field is presented. Furthermore, additional information and a brief history of it is given. The organization structure, as well as the basic functions of each department, are also presented. The malfunctions of the company, through interviews of management personnel and employees in all departments are presented and followed by improvement proposals. Through the application of BPR methods and changes proposed in the organizational structure of the company. The thesis concludes with the presentation of the conclusions drawn. | en |
