heal.abstract	Στο σύνολό της, η πρότασής μας ανάγεται σε τοπιακό ζήτημα, χαρακτηριστικό που προϋπήρχε του κτιριακού σχεδιασμού. Αναζητούμε ένα νέο τόπο ανασυγκρότησης της ναυπηγικής τέχνης και της ναυτοσύνης της περιοχής, μέσα από την δημιουργία της νέας ακτογραμμής του λιμανιού, αλλά και κορυφογραμμής προς την πόλη. Μέσα σε ένα τοπίο που λάνθανε λόγω των επιστρώσεων του χρόνου και της εξέλιξης της δραστηριότητας της ναυπηγικής, ερχόμαστε λοιπόν και εγκαθίσταμαι. Το κτίριο συνεισφέρει στον τερματισμό της πόλης. Τα στοιχεία που το αποτελούν δεν συντάσσουν ακόμη μια κτιριολογική στρατηγική, αλλά επιχειρούν να απαντήσουν σε ερωτήματα τόσο λειτουργικά, όσο και τοπιακά, επιχειρώντας την ίδια ώρα τη μετάβαση από την αστική κλίμακα της πόλης, στην κλίμακα του λιμανιού και από αυτή στην κλίμακα του ναυπηγού και του φοιτητή. Η σχισμή που δημιουργείται προκειμένου να υποδεχτεί τα καΐκια, αποτελει μια πράξη τοπιακής χάραξης. Χωρίζει και συντεριάζει. Αποτελεί το όριο προς τη θάλασσα και την ένωση με αυτήν. Είναι σημαντικό να συνεχίσουμε το περπάτημα πάνω στα χνάρια που άλλοι, πριν από εμάς, άφησαν πάνω στο έδαφος, συνεχίζοντας αυτόν τον παλίμψηστο της ναυτικής τέχνης. Χιλιάδες καϊκια καταστράφηκαν σπάζοντας τα όνειρα ενός κόσμου για φυγή προς το μύθο, για την αναζήτηση του απρόσμενου. Με προτάσεις σαν αυτή ελπίζουμε κάτι τέτοιο να διορθωθεί και να αναγεννηθει. Εξάλλου, κάτι από της θάλασσας το DNA υπάρχει μέσα μας για να μας κάνει να χαμογελάμε με οικειότητα και νοσταλγία προς αυτή κάθε φορά που την αντικρίζουμε.	el
heal.abstract	This diploma thesis is, at first, a matter of learning and supporting the value of greek traditional shipbuilding. Secondly, it is of great importance to analyze and understand the locus where we come to create our whole architectural synthesis. Our goal was to find a place where the art of shipbuilding and reconstructing wooden vessels could be embraced and highlighted, but at the same time, an urban design that could improve the landscape's conditions by adding new functions. Through the creation of a new coastline for the port, in addition to the complex of spaces with a variety of indoors and outdoors functions, we believe our goal was fulfilled. Furthermore, integration into the landscape was essential. Big rigor volumes with closed facades to the exterior of the complex and more perforated ones to the interior were used for this cause. First idea that led to the basic architectural gesture was a section in the sea that could provide a slit to bring out the vessels from the water. Two linear buildings frame this slot in the water and as a result the sense of the section is strengthened. Various spaces are formed to its right and left attempting the transition from the large scale of the port to the urban scale of the city and from that to the scale of humans. The whole urban design is a matter of balance between union and separation. Sea and land, city and port, work and education, humans and boats. All together coexisting like a system where everything is essential for its balanced operation.	en
