Έρευνα δυνατότητας αποθήκευσης πυρηνικών αποβλήτων στην Ελλάδα

Abstract

Ο σκοπός της διπλωματικής εργασίας ήταν να εξετάσουμε τις δυνατότητες αποθήκευσης πυρηνικών αποβλήτων στην Ελλάδα, αξιολογώντας τα γεολογικά, υδρολογικά, σεισμοτεκτονικά και άλλα χαρακτηριστικά του Ελλαδικού χώρου. Οι περιοχές φυσικού κάλλους όπως οι περιοχές Νatura ληφθήκαν και αυτές υπόψη. Τα βασικά δεδομένα πάρθηκαν από θεματικούς χάρτες του Ελλαδικού χώρου και αξιολογήθηκαν βάση του Ευρωπαικού κανονισμού Ατομικής Ενέργειας. Νέοι χάρτες της Ελλάδας που δείχνουν τις κατάλληλες περιοχές για αποθήκευση πυρηνικών αποβλήτων δημιουργήθηκαν με την βοήθεια του γεωγραφικού συστήματος πληροφοριών. Το γενικό συμπέρασμα που πάρθηκε μετά την μελέτη είναι ότι οι περιοχές που αξιολογήθηκαν ως κατάλληλες για αποθήκευση πυρηνικών αποβλήτων στον Ελλαδικό χώρο είναι πολυ μικρές και περιορισμένες.

The purpose of the present work was to examine the possibilities of the desposal of nuclear wastes in Greece based on the evaluation of the geological, hydrological, seismotectonic and other characteristics of the Greek territory. The natural resources,the Natura sites and the urban locations were also considered. The initial data for the subjects in question were originated from the existing thematic maps of Greece while data from other databaces were co-evaluated, on the basis of the European Legislation for the Atomic Energy. New maps of Greece showing the areas suitable for nuclear disposal in Greece were created, by the use of a Geographic Information System. The general conclution that may be drown from this study is that for the total of the Greek territory, only some locations of very limited extent could be considered suitable.
