heal.abstract	Οι ασυνόδευτοι ανήλικοι πρόσφυγες, θεωρούνται μία από τις πιο ευάλωτες και χρήζουσες ιδιαίτερης προστασίας ομάδες πληθυσμού, ωστόσο στην Ελλάδα ένα μεγάλο ποσοστό παιδιών αυτής της κατηγορίας διαμένει σε συνθήκες επικίνδυνες και μη βιώσιμες. Επιλέξαμε λοιπόν ως θέμα της διπλωματικής μας εργασίας τον σχεδιασμό μιας ανοιχτής δομής φιλοξενίας ασυνόδευτων ανηλίκων. Στην μελέτη μας η δομή φιλοξενίας δεν σχεδιάζεται ως αυτόνομο κτηριακό συγκρότημα, αλλά διαχέεται στην επιλεγμένη γειτονιά της πόλης των Τρικάλων, προτείνοντας έναν εναλλακτικό τρόπο για τη στέγαση των ασυνόδευτων ανηλίκων προσφύγων. Η κατοίκηση συμπληρώνεται από ένα πλέγμα δημόσιων χρήσεων που είναι ανοιχτές, εκτός από τους φιλοξενούμενους, στους κατοίκους και κυρίως στους μαθητές της γειτονιάς. Δημιουργείται έτσι μια ουσιαστική, αμφίδρομη σχέση με την τοπική κοινότητα που επωφελείται η ίδια, αφού ενισχύονται και συμπληρώνονται οι υπάρχουσες δομές της, ενώ ταυτόχρονα εξασφαλίζεται ένα βελτιωμένο επίπεδο ζωής στους φιλοξενούμενους, που συνυπάρχουν με άλλους νέους και νέες της ηλικίας τους, με στόχο να μειωθεί η περιθωριοποίησή τους. Η πρόταση εκκινεί από αυτό το θεωρητικό υπόβαθρο για να οδηγηθεί στην πολεοδομική μεταγραφή του και στη συνέχεια στον αστικό σχεδιασμό, φτάνοντας τελικά στην κλίμακα της αρχιτεκτονικής σύνθεσης. Η εργασία μας διαρθρώνεται σε πέντε μέρη: Στο πρώτο μέρος αναφέρονται με συντομία κάποια χαρακτηριστικά στατιστικά στοιχεία που αφορούν το προσφυγικό ζήτημα στην Ελλάδα, εστιάζοντας ιδιαίτερα σε ζητήματα φιλοξενίας των ασυνόδευτων ανήλικων προσφύγων. Στο δεύτερο μέρος, παρουσιάζεται ο θεωρητικός προβληματισμός και ο κεντρικός άξονας της πρότασης, και προσδιορίζεται το λειτουργικό πρόγραμμα της παρέμβασης. Στο τρίτο μέρος αναλύονται τα στοιχεία που οδήγησαν στην επιλογή της περιοχής μελέτης, παρουσιάζεται μια σύντομη πολεοδομική ανάλυση της πόλης των Τρικάλων και της γειτονιάς του Άγιου Κωνσταντίνου, η οποία επιλέχθηκε ειδικότερα ως περιοχή παρέμβασης. Στο τέταρτο μέρος αναλύεται η πρόταση ως προς τη διάσταση του αστικού σχεδιασμού, και εξηγούνται οι βασικοί άξονες της παρέμβασης και η διάταξη των επιμέρους κτηρίων. Τέλος, το πέμπτο μέρος, αφορά την αρχιτεκτονική διάσταση της πρότασης και ιδιαίτερα τη σύνθεση των μονάδων κατοικιών και των κοινόχρηστων κτηρίων που περιβάλλουν τη νέα πλατεία που δημιουργείται. Στο παράρτημα περιλαμβάνονται σχέδια, σκίτσα και μακέτες εργασίας που έγιναν κατά τη διάρκεια της μελέτης.	el
heal.abstract	Unaccompanied minors are considered one of the most vulnerable social groups amongst refugees, thus they require a special form of treatment. Unfortunately, in Greece, many children in this category currently live in dangerous and inhumane conditions. Our diplomatic project targets this issue by proposing an open refugee centre for accommodating and educating unaccompanied minors. The accommodation centre is not designed as an autonomous building. Rather, its functions are integrated into the fabric of its chosen neighbourhood, within the city of Trikala. Housing is incorporated into a network of public buildings that the entire community - especially the students of that neighbourhood - can use, resulting in a meaningful dialogue between its locals and the unaccompanied minors. This will benefit the local community by strengthening and completing its existing structural complex. Simultaneously, the standard of living for the unaccompanied children is improved by offering them shared spaces to coexist with other youth of their age, hopefully reducing their marginalization inside the community. Our research uses background theory to inform our urban planning proposal in which its principles are reflected in our proposed architectural composition. The following analysis consists of five parts: The first part presents statistical data on the refugee issue in Greece, specifically focusing on the problems surrounding accommodation with unaccompanied minors. In the second part, the thesis, theoretical statements and functional schedule of the building construction is presented. The third part describes the factors leading to selecting Trikala as the city for intervention and presents a brief analysis of Agios Konstantinos, the neighbourhood of the site proposal. The fourth part offers solutions to the outlined problem through the lens of urban planning, stating the main values and purposes. Lastly, the fifth part is dedicated to demonstrating the synthetic architectural dimension of the proposal, particularly analyzing the residential buildings and public buildings surrounding the main square.
