heal.abstract	The Diploma Thesis presents the results of a Cost Benefit Analysis performed in an LNG carrier case regarding how feasible the installation of a shaft generator system can be. The merits are examined both from the economic and environmental performance point of views. It is shown that via the installation of such a system in an actual ship, all key performance indicators of the ship (e.g. fuel consumption and emissions) are improved, whilst a Battery Storage System proves non suitable for this vessel.	en
