heal.abstract	Το «Πάλας» βρίσκεται στη λεωφόρο Υμηττού στο Παγκράτι και αποτελεί τον παλαιότερο εναπομένοντα συνοικιακό κινηματογράφο. Το ισόγειο κτίριο με την αίθουσα χειμερινών προβολών κτίστηκε το 1924. Με τη διαμόρφωση του δώματος το 1937, προστέθηκε ο θερινός κινηματογράφος. Όπως απεικονίζεται σε φωτογραφία του 1955, μπροστά από το «Πάλας» υπήρξε ένας πλατύς ελεύθερος χώρος, ο οποίος τη δεκαετία του 60 καταλήφθηκε από έναν κυκλοφοριακό κόμβο. Αυτός ο ελεύθερος χώρος στη λεωφόρο Υμηττού, άνηκε σε χαράξεις δημόσιων χώρων (άξονες και πλατείες) όπως ορίστηκαν στο ρυμοτομικό διάγραμμα του 1886. Η παρούσα μελέτη περιλαμβάνει την ανάλυση της πολεοδομικής εξέλιξης – ιστορίας της συνοικίας του Παγκρατίου, από την ίδρυση της, τον 19ο αιώνα. Μέσα σε ένα πνεύμα αποκατάστασης και εξωραϊσμού του παλαιού κέντρου, έγινε ανάλυση της υπάρχουσας κυκλοφορίας και πρόταση αποσυμφόρησης της. Ακόμη, έγινε η αποτύπωση της υφιστάμενης κατάστασης του παλαιού κινηματογράφου και του περιβάλλοντα χώρου του. Ακολούθησε πρόταση αποκατάστασης - κατά τη μεγαλύτερη δυνατή έκταση - της αρχικής μορφής και διαμόρφωση, στο πνεύμα των πρωταρχικών χαράξεων, του περιβάλλοντα χώρου, για την εύρυθμη κυκλοφορία και την ευχάριστη διαβίωση της τοπικής κοινωνίας. Τέλος, έγινε η λειτουργική και κτιριολογική αναβάθμιση του «Πάλας», ενός εκ των παλαιότερων κινηματογράφων της Αθήνας και της Ελλάδας.	el
heal.abstract	The ‘Palas’ movie theater is located in Ymittou Avenue in Pagkrati and is the oldest remaining cinema. The ground floor indoor projection hall was originally built in 1924. After the rooftop creation in 1937, an open-air cinema theater was added. A photograph of 1955s, depicts a public space in front of the “Palas” cinema, which since 1960s was converted to a traffic roundabout junction. This open space in Ymittou Avenue was part of a public area network (streets and squares), originally created in the Pagkrati masterplan of 1886. This thesis consists of a primordial study of the urban development and the history of this district, since its foundation in the 19th century. In the spirit of the restoration and rehabilitation within the old center of Pagkrati, it analyzes the existing traffic accommodation and proposes an implementing plan for its improvement. Additionally, there is a thorough survey of the cinema building and its surrounding area. As a conclusion, there is a rehabilitation - restoration proposal to the greatest extend possible of the original form of the building and its surrounding area. Within the more orderly traffic regulation, the vision of this study is the aesthetic improvement of the old building and the quality of life of the local society, with the functional and aesthetic rehabilitation of one of the oldest cinemas in Athens and Greece.	en
