heal.abstract	Η αφήγηση είναι το βασικό μέσο αφήγησης και καταγραφής ιστοριών. Οι άνθρωποι άρχισαν να δημιουργούν αφηγηματικές δομές στους προϊστορικούς χρόνους, αφού η αφήγηση είναι βασική ανθρώπινη πρακτική κατανόησης του εαυτού μας και των άλλων. Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία στοχεύει στη δημιουργία ενός Κέντρου Αφήγησης στην Αθήνα, ενός χώρου όπου μπορούν να ειπωθούν όλες οι ιστορίες, ανεξάρτητα από το θέμα τους. Το κέντρο προτείνεται να βρίσκεται στο Μετς, κοντά στο Α' Νεκροταφείο. Μέσω της θέσης του, το κέντρο Αφήγησης εξερευνά τη σχέση της αφήγησης με τη μνήμη, την ιστορία και τον θάνατο. Το Κέντρο Αφήγησης προτείνεται να ενταχθεί σε μια ευρύτερη διαδρομή που συνδέει το αρχαίο νεκροταφείο του Κεραμεικού με το σύγχρονο Α' Νεκροταφείο Αθηνών. Αυτή η διαδρομή θα συνδέει ένα δίκτυο συγκεκριμένων τοποθεσιών όπου μπορούν να αφηγηθούν συγκεκριμένες ιστορίες σχετικές με την ιστορία και τη μυθολογία της πόλης. Το Κέντρο Αφήγησης αποτελείται από μια σειρά Δωμάτιων Ιστορήσεων που επαναχρησιμοποιούν τα εγκαταλελειμμένα κτίρια που συγκροτούν ολόκληρο το οικοδομικό τετράγωνο. Τα κτίρια αυτά διατηρούνται με διακριτικότητα, αξιοποιώντας την ατμόσφαιρα της εγκατάλειψης ως σιωπηλό υπόβαθρο αφήγησης. Το νέο προτεινόμενο κτίριο, στεγάζει τις πιο δημόσιες λειτουργίες του Κέντρου όπως η διοίκηση, οι χώροι έρευνας και αναψυχής. Το νέο κτίριο συμπληρώνει το υπόλοιπο κενό οικόπεδο δημιουργώντας μια σπείρα επιμηκών όγκων που προσαρμόζονται στην τοπογραφία του οικοπέδου.	el
heal.abstract	Narration is the basic means of telling and recording stories. Humans started creating narrative structures in prehistoric times, since narration is essential human practice of understanding ones self and the others. The present thesis aims at the creation of a Storytelling Center in Athens, a place where all stories can be told, regardless their theme. The center is proposed to be located at Mets, close to the First Cemetery. Through its location, the center of Narration explores the relationship of storytelling with memory, history and death. The Narration Center is proposed to be part of a wider route that connects the ancient cemetery of Kerameikos with the contemporary First Cemetery of Athens. This route will connect a network of specific sites where particular stories can be narrated in relation to the city’s history and mythology. The Narrative Center consists of a series of Narrative Rooms that re-use the abandoned buildings that consist the entire urban block. These buildings are preserved in tact, by exploiting the atmosphere of the abandonment as a silent background for narration. The new proposed building, holds the more public functions of the Center like the administration, spaces for research and recreation. The new building completes the remaining empty plot by a creating a spiral of elongated volumes adapting to the site’s topography.	en
