heal.abstract	Αυτή η διπλωματική εργασία, ασχολείται με την επίπτωση της γήρανσης της σεισμικής μόνωσης μιας γέφυρας στην απόκρισή της καθώς και στην σύγκριση των αποκρίσεων ενός μονωμένου και ενός μη μονωμένου φορέα. Μέσω αναλύσεων ενός μονωμένου μονοβάθμιου πλαισίου και ενός μη μονωμένου, αναδεικνύονται τα πλεονεκτήματα της εφαρμογής σεισμικής μόνωσης σε μια κατασκευή. Από γραμμικές και μη γραμμικές αναλύσεις για τον φορέα μιας γέφυρας πριν και μετά την γήρανση της σεισμικής της μόνωσης, εξάγονται συμπεράσματα σχετικά με την επιρροή του φαινομένου αυτού στην απόκριση της σε όρους μετακινήσεων, επιταχύνσεων και αποσβενώμενης ενέργειας. Τα συμπεράσματα που εξήχθησαν από τα παραπάνω, είναι πως οι σχετικές μετατοπίσεις ενός συμβατικού φορέα είναι πολύ μεγαλύτερες των σχετικών μετατοπίσεων ενός μονωμένου φορέα, και άρα υπάρχει μεγαλύτερη καταπόνηση του φέροντα οργανισμού. Επίσης, η γραμμική ανάλυση παρουσιάζει πολύ σημαντικές διαφορές σε σχέση με την μη γραμμική, καθώς δεν λαμβάνει υπόψιν της την μετελαστικότητα του υλικού και ως εκ τούτου γίνονται χονδροειδή σφάλματα. Τέλος, η γήρανση σαν φαινόμενο, εφόσον λειτουργεί εκθετικά, αρχικά δεν επιφέρει σημαντική αλλαγή στην απόκριση του φορέα της γέφυρας, όσο όμως η κατασκευή πλησιάζει τον εκτιμώμενο χρόνο ζωής της, οι επιπτώσεις της γήρανσης της σεισμικής μόνωσης γίνονται ολοφάνερες και άκρως σημαντικές.	el
heal.abstract	The main purposes of the present study, are the effects the ageing of the seismic isolation of a bridge structure has on its response, and the comparison between the response of a seismically isolated and a non-seismically isolated structure. Through analysis of a seismically isolated single degree of freedom frame and a non-seismically isolated frame, the benefits of applying seismic isolation on a structure can be showcased. Lastly, through linear and non-linear analysis of a bridge structure before and after the ageing of its seismic isolation, results about the effects of this phenomenon on the response of the bridge in terms of displacements, accelerations and dissipated energy are extracted. The conclusions that were formed are that the relative displacements of a non-seismically isolated structure are much larger than those of a seismically isolated one, and thus the structure is put under more stress. Also, linear analysis has major differences compared to non-linear analysis as it does not take into account the post-elasticity of the material and as such not negligible errors occur. Lastly, ageing itself as a phenomenon, because it works at an exponential rate, in the beginning it does not bring any major change to the response of the bridge structure, however, as the structure nears the end of its life-cycle time the effects ageing has on its seismic isolation become clearly visible and of the utmost importance.	en
