heal.abstract	Εν αρχή η πρόκλησις, όλα ξεκινούν από ένα ερευνητικό εγχείρημα για απόδοση θεωρητικής και πρακτικής υπόστασης στο ζήτημα κατανόησης του τόπου στο αστικό τοπίο της πόλης. Για να καταστεί αυτό δυνατό επιλέχθηκε η ιδιαίτερη γενέτειρα μας η Λεμεσός, που βιωματικά και συναισθηματικά είδαμε να αντικατοπτρίζεται σε αυτή εκείνο το οριακό και γιατί όχι ακραίο παράδειγμα σύγχρονης, πολυπολιτισμικής και διαχρονικής πόλης με πολλά αλλά και αντιφατικά πρόσωπα. Μέσα από μια μεθοδική και συστηματική ανάλυση και ιχνηλάτηση των στοιχείων–προσώπων ομοιογένειας και ανομοιογένειας προσπαθήσαμε να αναγνώσουμε την ταυτότητα της πόλης, το genius loci της. Αυτό το εγχείρημα μας έφερε στο φως σημεία ενδιαφέροντος της πόλης που έχριζαν άμεσα επεξεργασίας για τον επαναπροσδιορισμό της Λεμεσού. Στη συνέχεια διαμορφώθηκε μια πιλοτική διαδικασία, όπου σε επίπεδο masterplan προτείνει ενδεικτικές στρατηγικές παρεμβάσεις σε καίρια σημεία της πόλης ως μια άλλη διαδικασία συρραφής του αστικού ιστού. Η ανάγκη ολοκλήρωσης και τεκμηρίωσης σε βάθος της πιο πάνω παραγωγικής διαδικασίας μας ώθησε να εστιάσουμε στο ιστορικό κέντρο της πόλης, τον κατεξοχήν πυρήνα συνοχής της, όπου με την ανάπλαση ενός ανενεργού θύλακα επιχειρήσαμε την αναζωογόνηση της Λεμεσού. Πιο συγκεκριμένα επιλέγεται η απόδοση μιας βιώσιμης χρήσης, όπου σε συνδυασμό με κατάλληλες κυκλοφοριακές ρυθμίσεις και τη δημιουργία γραμμικού πάρκου που πλαισιώνει την πρόταση, επιχειρείται η ενεργοποίηση και απελευθέρωση των διαχρονικών σχέσεων του ιστορικού κέντρου, η ενδυνάμωση του, η οργανική επανασύνδεση του με τον περικεντρικό αστικό ιστό και τη θάλασσα και εν τέλη η αναβίωση του πνεύματος του τόπου, του Genius Loci της Λεμεσού.	el
heal.abstract	At the beginning, the challenge. Everything starts from a research venture to give theoretical and practical substance to the issue of understanding the place in the urban landscape of the city. To make this possible, we chose our hometown Limassol, which we see experientially and emotionally reflecting that marginal and why not extreme example of a modern, multicultural and timeless city with many but also contradictory facets. Through a methodical and systematic analysis and tracking of the elements-faces of homogeneity and heterogeneity we tried to recognize the identity of the city, its genius loci. This venture brought to light points of interest in the city that needed immediate processing for the redefinition of Limassol. Then a pilot process was formed, where at the masterplan level it proposes Indicative Strategic Interventions in key points of the city as another stitching process of the urban fabric. The need for completion and in-depth documentation of the above-mentioned productive process, prompted us to focus on the historic center of the city, its par excellence core of cohesion, where with the regeneration of an inactive enclave we attempted to revitalize Limassol. More specifically, we chose to provide a sustainable use, which in combination with the appropriate traffic arrangements and the creation of a linear park that frames the proposal, an attempt is made to activate and release the timeless relations of the historic center, its empowerment, its organic reconnection with the pericentric urban fabric and the sea and finally the revival of the spirit of the place, the Genius Loci of Limassol.	en
