heal.abstract	Σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η ανάλυση και παρουσίαση των γεωτεχνικών θεμάτων που σχετίζονται με την εκσκαφή αστικών σηράγγων με δύο μεθόδους: την μέθοδο ΝΑΤΜ και την μέθοδο μηχανοποιημένης όρυξης με χρήση ΤΒΜ. Στην εργασία αυτή παρουσιάζεται αναλυτικά η μεθοδολογία εφαρμογής της κάθε μεθόδου, ο χρησιμοποιούμενος εξοπλισμός, η προσαρμογή της μεθόδου στο γεωλογικό περιβάλλον του υπογείου έργου καθώς επίσης και στις σχεδιαστικές – λειτουργικές απαιτήσεις του έργου. Ακόμη παρουσιάζονται παραδείγματα εφαρμογών των δύο μεθόδων καθώς επίσης και περιπτώσεις αστοχίας εφαρμογής λόγω λανθασμένου σχεδιασμού. Επιπλέον αναφέρονται οι σχεδιαστικές και γεωτεχνικές παράμετροι τα χαρακτηριστικά των οποίων λαμβάνονται υπόψη κατά τη φάση σχεδιασμού και επιλογής μεθόδου εκσκαφής μιας αστικής σήραγγας. Τέλος επιχειρείται η συγκριτική αξιολόγηση των δύο μεθόδων με βάση κριτήρια όπως την λειτουργία του έργου, τις σχεδιαστικές παραμέτρους, τις γεωλογικές συνθήκες και το κόστος κατασκευής.	el
heal.abstract	The aim of this diploma thesis is the analysis and the presentation of the geotechnical issues relevant to the excavation of urban tunnels with two particular methods: the NATM method and the mechanized excavation with TBM. In the thesis it is analytically presented the methodology of application of each method, the equipment used, the adjustment of each method to the geological environment of the underground project as well as to the design - functional demands of the project. Application examples of the two methods are also presented as well as cases of misapplication due to design failure. Furthermore, are being reported the design and geotechnical parameters, the characteristics of which are taken into account during the phases of design and selection of the appropriate excavation method for an urban tunnel. In the end, is attempted a comparative assessment of the two methods of excavation using criteria such as the function of the project, the design parameters, the geological conditions and the cost of the construction.	en
