heal.abstract	Η συγκεκριμένη διπλωματική εργασία πραγματεύεται το σχεδιασμό ενός κέντρου ενδυνάμωσης γυναικών στο χωριό Baghere της Νότιας Σενεγάλης, με κύρια οικονομική δραστηριότητα τη γεωργία. Το κτιριολογικό πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνει αγορά, καλλιέργειες λαχανικών και δέντρων, κοινόχρηστους καθημερινούς χώρους (υποδοχή, κουζίνα - εστιατόριο, αίθουσες συνεδριάσεων, χώρους υγιεινής), χώρο δραστηριοτήτων και αίθουσα διαλέξεων, καθώς και ξενώνες για διαμονή τόσο παροδική όσο και μόνιμη. Τα υλικά που έχουν επιλεχθεί είναι υλικά της γης, όπως rammed earth και ωμόπλινθοι από τοπικό κόκκινο χώμα, σκυρόδεμα, τοπικό ξύλο για δομικά στοιχεία και έπιπλα, κυματοειδής λαμαρίνα και άχυρο. Οι επιλογές αυτές έγιναν προκειμένου να διατηρηθούν στοιχεία της τυπικής σενεγαλέζικης αρχιτεκτονικής και να καταρριφθούν οι απόψεις που υποστηρίζουν πως αποτελούν υλικά των φτωχών, καθώς μπορούν να δώσουν ένα ωραίο αισθητικά αποτέλεσμα. Ακόμη, ανταποκρίνονται στις σύγχρονες ανάγκες της βιωσιμότητας και είναι φιλικά προς το περιβάλλον. Σκοπός της εργασίας αυτής είναι ο επαναπροσδιορισμός της θέσης της γυναίκας στο κοινωνικό σύνολο μέσα από τη δημιουργία ενός πυρήνα που στοχεύει στη μόρφωση και την εκπαίδευσή τους όσο αφορά τη γεωργία. Το αποτέλεσμα αυτής της πρόθεσης είναι η ενεργή εμπλοκή τους σε εμπορικές δραστηριότητες και, μακροπρόθεσμα, η οικονομική τους ανεξαρτησία.	el
heal.abstract	The topic of my thesis deals with the design of a women's empowerment center in the village of Baghere, Southern Senegal, with agriculture as the main economic activity. The purpose of this work is to redefine the position of women in society. It proposes the creation of a core aimed at education and professional training in agriculture, and beyond. Since women make up 1/3 of the workforce in rural Senegal, their education is considered an crucial action. The result of this intention is their active involvement in commercial activities and, in the long run, their financial independence. The building program includes a market, areas for growing vegetables and trees, common everyday areas (reception, kitchen - restaurant, conference rooms, sanitary areas), an activity area and a lecture hall, as well as guesthouses for both temporary and permanent accommodation. The selection of materials for this particular work was based on a detailed study of the local materials of the area. Rammed earth, hand-made raw bricks and plaster of red color found in abundance in the area, concrete, local wood for the construction of structural elements and furniture, corrugated sheet metal and straw are the predominant ones. These choices were made in order to preserve elements of the local Senegalese architecture and to dispel the opinions that claim that they are materials of the poor, as they can give a nice aesthetic result. Furthermore, they meet the modern needs of sustainability, are environmentally friendly and allow the construction process to be particularly simple and done by the villagers themselves. An important element of the work are the canopies, which contribute to the collection of rainwater, as well as the option of a composting toilet, which works without the use of water, making it an ecological choice.	en
