heal.abstract	The current diploma thesis estimates the effect of trim optimization on , using operational data of a three-year period for two sister vessels referred to as Vessel 1 and Vessel 2. After the data are collected and processed, the weather correction, for wind and swell, takes place, in order to get accurate final results for the ship’s power in accordance to its trim. Finally a multiple linear regression model that estimates the power based on speed, mean draft and trim is developed. That model provides a prediction for the variation of the ship’s power, estimated for a specific range of speed, taken from the initial data, and multiple mean draft/trim combinations.
