heal.abstract	Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία εξετάζει προβληματικές και προτείνει λύσεις που εμπίπτουν στην ευρύτερη θεματική του αστικού σχεδιασμού, επιλέγοντας ως πεδίο έρευνας την πόλη της Καλαμάτας. Η πρόταση που την συνοδεύει περιλαμβάνει εστιασμένες παρεμβάσεις που εντάσσονται σε μια τριμερή, αλλά ενιαία λογική ανασχεδιασμού, η οποία καλείται να επαναπροσδιορίσει το αστικό τμήμα του ποταμού Νέδοντα, που διασχίζει την πόλη στον άξονα βορρά – νότου. Τόσο η κοίτη όσο και τα παρόχθια μέτωπα του ποταμού – χειμάρρου προσεγγίζονται ως τμήματα ενός άξονα που, εκτός από τους οραματισμούς που τον αντιμετωπίζουν αμιγώς με τρόπο υλικοτεχνικό, σχεδιάζεται ώστε να αποτελέσει τοπόσημο και μέσο συρραφής των εκατέρωθεν συνοικιών, προσφέροντας παράλληλα διαδρομές και θέες προς τα εναλλασσόμενα – ανά εποχή – υδάτινα τοπία του. Η διαδικασία επιτυγχάνεται διαμέσου μιας ερευνητικής διαδρομής που αγγίζει τις ευρύτερες θεματικές της επίκαιρης συζήτησης για την πόλη, την αστική εμπειρία, την δυνατότητά της να ανταποκριθεί στις προκλήσεις του ποταμού, όπως αυτές προκύπτουν από τις πρόσφατες υδρολογικές μελέτες, καθώς και τις μεθόδους διαχείρισης των αστικών υδάτων στο διεθνή χώρο, και αποσκοπεί στη συγκρότηση μιας πρότασης πολυεπίπεδης· μιας πρότασης που επιχειρεί να αναδείξει τη σημασία του αστικού βιώματος μέσω της ενεργητικής ανάμνησης του στοιχείου του νερού, προσπαθώντας παράλληλα να αντιμετωπίσει ως ένα βαθμό τεχνικά προβλήματα υπαρκτά, που σχετίζονται κυρίως με τον πλημμυρικό κίνδυνο που εγκυμονούν οι στενές διατομές του υδάτινου ανοιχτού αγωγού.	el
heal.abstract	The present thesis examines problematics and proposes solutions that fall within the broader subject of urban planning, choosing the city of Kalamata as the field of research / the case study. The architectural proposal that accompanies it includes focused interventions that are part of a tripartite, but unified regeneration strategy, that comes to redefine the urban part of the river Nedon, which crosses the city on the north-south axis. Both the bed and the riparian fronts of the river - stream are approached as parts of an axis which, apart from the visions that deal with it in a purely logistical way, is designed to be a landmark and a means of stitching together the urban districts on either side, offering at the same time routes and views towards its alternating – by season – waterscapes. The process is achieved through a research path that deals with the current debate on the city, the urban experience, its ability to respond to the challenges of the river, as these emerge from recent hydrological studies, as well as urban water management methods, and aims to create a multi-level proposal; a proposal that attempts to highlight the importance of the urban experience through the active remembrance of the water element, while trying at the same time to address, to a certain extent, the existing technical problems, mainly related to the flood risk posed by the narrow cross-sections of the open water conduit.	en
