heal.abstract	Σκοπός της διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η επανάχρηση του ξενοδοχείου Βερεγγάρια και η ενεργοποίηση του οικισμού στον οποίο το ξενοδοχείο αυτό εντάσσεται. Το ξενοδοχείο Βερεγγάρια βρίσκεται στο χωριό Πρόδρομος στην ορεινή Κύπρο εντός του γεωπάρκου Τροόδους. Το Τρόοδος αποτελεί διεθνές πρότυπο για την σύσταση των πετρωμάτων του, που με γεωλογικούς όρους ονομάζεται Οφιολθικό σύστημα και είναι το καλύτερα διατηρημένο στον κόσμο. Το κτήριο που μελετήσαμε αποτελεί ένα μοναδικό δείγμα αρχιτεκτονικής τόσο μορφολογικά όσο και κατασκευαστικά. Μορφολογικά αποτελεί ένα πάντρεμα παραδοσιακής αρχιτεκτονικής της ορεινής Κύπρου μαζί με την αρχιτεκτονική των Πύργων που κοσμούσαν την Μεγάλη Βρετανία τον 19ο αιώνα, ενώ κατασκευαστικά, είναι το πρώτο κτήριο με σύμμικτη κατασκευή στο νησί. Πρόταση της διπλωματικής είναι η δημιουργία μιας σχολής / ερευνητικό κέντρο γεωλογίας, κάτι που λείπει από το νησί. Μέσω της λειτουργίας αυτής ενεργοποιούμε τόσο το κτήριο όσο και τον οικισμό τοποθετώντας τις συμπληρωματικές λειτουργίες σε όλο τον ιστό του.	el
heal.abstract	The purpose of the thesis is the reuse of the Berengaria Hotel and the activation of the area of which this hotel is part. The Berengaria Hotel is located in the village of Prodromos in Cyprus within Troodos Geopark. Troodos is an international example of the composition of its rocks, which in geological terms is called the Ophiolitic system and is the best preserved in the world. The building we studied is a unique example of architecture both morphologically and structurally. Morphologically, it is a marriage of the vernacular architecture of Cyprus and the architecture of the Towers that adorned Great Britain in the 19th century. At the same time, as it concerns its building technology, it is the first building with mixed construction on the island. The proposal of the thesis is the creation of a faculty/research centre of geology, something that is missing from the island. Through this function, we activate both the building and the village by placing complementary roles all over the settlement.	en
