heal.abstract	Η παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή διπλωματική εργασία αφορά στην προστασία και την ανάδειξη των παραδοσιακών οικισμών του Ζαγορίου του Ν. Ιωαννίνων. Η προσέγγιση του θέματος ξεκινά με την αναγνώριση των στοιχείων που συγκροτούν τη φυσιογνωμία των οικισμών αυτών: το φυσικό και δομημένο περιβάλλον τους, τα κλιματολογικά και γεωμορφολογικά στοιχεία, τα πολιτισμικά χαρακτηριστικά, και τη διαχρονική εξέλιξη της κοινωνικό – οικονομικής ταυτότητάς τους. Πραγματοποιείται αναγνώριση των αρχιτεκτονικών και μορφολογικών στοιχείων που διαμορφώνουν την εικόνα των οικισμών, και των υποδομών που υποστήριζαν τον παραδοσιακό τρόπο ζωής στο Ζαγόρι (δίκτυο μονοπατιών, γεφύρια, υδρόμυλοι). Στη συνέχεια η εργασία μελετά την σημερινή κατάσταση της περιοχής, όσον αφορά στα δημογραφικά, κοινωνικά και οικονομικά χαρακτηριστικά, τον βαθμό διατήρησης των παραδοσιακών οικισμών, τις αλλοιώσεις που έχουν επέλθει με το πέρασμα του χρόνου και το θεσμικό πλαίσιο προστασίας για το φυσικό και το δομημένο περιβάλλον του Ζαγορίου. Αναλύονται οι προοπτικές και οι τάσεις εξέλιξης αλλά και οι κίνδυνοι και τα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζει σήμερα η περιοχή, προκειμένου να διατυπωθούν μέθοδοι με τις οποίες μπορεί να επιτευχθεί η προστασία της αρχιτεκτονικής κληρονομιάς και του φυσικού περιβάλλοντος αυτού του ιδιαίτερου οικιστικού συνόλου, διασφαλίζοντας ταυτόχρονα την αειφόρο ανάπτυξη του τόπου. Βασικά εργαλεία για την προσέγγιση του στόχου αυτού, είναι ο Χωροταξικός και Πολεοδομικός Σχεδιασμός, που θα καταλήξει στην κατάλληλη Νομοθεσία, η σύνταξη Σχεδίου Διαχείρισης της εξέλιξης του τόπου, καθώς και η συμβολή του κράτους και της τοπικής αυτοδιοίκησης, με προδιαγραφές, καθοδήγηση και οικονομική στήριξη για ορθές παρεμβάσεις στα κτήρια και το δημόσιο χώρο των οικισμών, και με την απόδοση κινήτρων για οικονομική ανάπτυξη της περιοχής με όρους αειφορίας.	el
heal.abstract	This postgraduate thesis concerns the protection and promotion of the traditional settlements of Zagori, a region within Ioannina Prefecture. In order to approach this subject, it is necessary to recognize and analyze the elements that make up the physiognomy of these settlements: their natural and built environment, the climatic and geomorphological elements, the cultural characteristics, and the evolution of their socio-economic identity over time. The architectural and morphological elements that shape the image of the settlements, and the infrastructures that supported the traditional way of life in Zagori (path network, stone bridges, water mills) are identified. The paper then studies the current situation of the area, in terms of demographic, social and economic characteristics, the degree of preservation of traditional settlements, the changes that have occurred over time and the institutional protection framework for the natural and built environment of Zagori. The prospects and trends of development as well as the risks and problems that the area is facing today are analyzed, in order to formulate methods by which the protection of the architectural heritage and the natural environment of this particular residential complex can be achieved, while ensuring sustainable development of the place. Basic tools for approaching this goal are Spatial and Urban Planning, which will result in the appropriate Legislation for the protection of the architectural and natural heritage, and the drafting of a Management Plan for the development of the region. In addition to that, the contribution of the state and local government, with specifications, guidance and financial support for appropriate interventions in the buildings and the public space of the settlements, and with the necessary incentives for the economic development of the area in terms of sustainability are very important.	en
