heal.abstract	Αντικείμενο της παρούσας ερευνητικής εργασίας αποτελεί η μελέτη των αστικών πλατειών και του ρόλου τους στις σύγχρονες πόλεις, σε συνδυασμό με τις αρχές του βιοκλιματικού σχεδιασμού. Στόχος είναι να εντοπιστούν τα περιβαλλοντικά προβλήματα στις σύγχρονες πόλεις και οι αρχές σχεδιασμού που μπορούν να εφαρμοστούν στις πλατείες, έτσι ώστε να γίνουν πιο βιώσιμες και φιλικές για τους ανθρώπους. Αρχικά, αναλύεται θεωρητικά η αστική πλατεία, με αναφορά στην υποβάθμισή της στο σύγχρονο περιβάλλον. Στη συνέχεια, προσεγγίζονται τα περιβαλλοντικά προβλήματα στις σύγχρονες πόλεις, με έμφαση σε αυτά που αφορούν τις πλατείες. Ακολούθως, μελετάται η αναγκαιότητα βιοκλιματικού και βιώσιμου αστικού σχεδιασμού και αναλύονται υλοποιημένα παραδείγματα αστικών πλατειών από το εξωτερικό και την Ελλάδα, σχεδιασμένων με βιοκλιματικά κριτήρια. Το τελευταίο μέρος της εργασίας περιλαμβάνει τα συμπεράσματα που προκύπτουν από τη σύνθεση της θεωρίας και των παραδειγμάτων.	el
heal.abstract	The subject of this dissertation is the study of urban squares and their role in modern cities, in combination with the principles of bioclimatic design. The aim is to identify environmental issues in modern cities and the design principles that can be applied to urban squares to make them more sustainable and user-friendly. Initially, a theoretical analysis of the urban square is provided, with a reference to its degradation in the contemporary urban environment. Subsequently, the environmental issues in modern cities are approached, with an emphasis on those related to urban squares. After that, the necessity of bioclimatic and sustainable urban design is examined, and implemented examples of urban squares from abroad and from Greece designed with bioclimatic criteria are analyzed. The final part of the thesis includes the conclusions drawn from the synthesis of the theory and the implemented examples.	en
