heal.abstract	Αναγνωρίζοντας ότι τα αστικά περιβάλλοντα είναι ακουστικά τοπία πλούσια σε νοήματα, η παρούσα έρευνα εξετάζει την ενσωμάτωση των θεωρήσεων του ηχοτοπίου στον αστικό σχεδιασμό και την απομάκρυνση από το συμβατικό δίπολο θόρυβος-σιγή, τονίζοντας, επίσης, τη σημασία της ενσωμάτωσης του ηχοτοπίου στη διαδικασία σχεδιασμού από τα πρώτα στάδια της συνθετικής διαδικασίας. Απομακρυνόμενη από τις παραδοσιακές προσεγγίσεις που επικεντρώνονται στη διαχείριση του θορύβου, η μελέτη υποστηρίζει μια ολιστική κατανόηση του ήχου στους αστικούς χώρους, καλύπτοντας ένα φάσμα που εκτείνεται από την ησυχία της φύσης έως τη ζωηρή βουή της ανθρώπινης δραστηριότητας. Για να επιτευχθεί αυτό, δίνεται έμφαση στην ένταξη των ποιοτικών δεδομένων για την αξιολόγηση του ηχοτοπίου. Οι ποσοτικές μετρήσεις από μόνες τους συχνά αποτυγχάνουν να αποτυπώσουν τις αποχρώσεις και τις υποκειμενικές πτυχές του ακουστικού περιβάλλοντος. Οι ποιοτικές μεθοδολογίες, συμπεριλαμβανομένων δημοσκοπήσεων, συνεντεύξεων και συμμετοχικής χαρτογράφησης, κρίνονται καταλληλότερες για την πλήρη κατανόηση και αποτύπωση του πολύπλοκου αστικού ηχοτοπίου, με την υποστήριξη των ποσοτικών μετρήσεων. heal.abstract	Recognizing that urban environments are sonic landscapes rich in meaning, this research examines the integration of soundscape considerations into urban design and the move away from the conventional noise-silence binary, also emphasizing the importance of integrating the soundscape into the design process from the early stages of the compositional process. Moving away from traditional approaches that focus on noise control, the study argues for a holistic understanding of sound in urban spaces, covering a spectrum ranging from the quiet of nature to the vibrant hum of human activity. To achieve this, emphasis is placed on the incorporation of qualitative data in the evaluation of the soundscape. Quantitative measurements alone often fail to capture the nuances and subjective aspects of the auditory environment. Qualitative methodologies, including surveys, interviews and participatory mapping, are considered more appropriate to fully comprehend and capture the complex urban soundscape, with support of quantitative measurements. This integration of qualitative insights enriches the evaluation process, offering a more comprehensive understanding of the cultural, social and emotional dimensions of sound.	en
