heal.abstract | In the present thesis, simulations are performed of the flow around the tower and the city of Piraeus under three different wind inflow directions: North, North-Northeast and South. All the simulated case studies, were accomplished using the open-source in-house software CAFFCA3D. For the numerical results, the standard k-ε turbulence model was used while the results of the pressure coefficient were compared with corresponding experimental wind tunnel measurements. Simulations are performed focusing on the dominant building of the area i.e. the Piraeus tower. Comparison of results is performed with and without the presence of the surrounding buildings and validation against experimental measurements is favorable. | en |
