heal.abstract The reduction of the amount of energy consumed in buildings is considered essential for achieving carbon neutrality. As a result, energy-saving measures in the building sector are crucial for addressing the climate crisis. However, the high costs discourage building owners and managers from undertaking energy efficiency projects, despite the financial benefits resulting from the savings. Consequently, it is clear that investments in these projects can play a significant role in increasing energy savings, however, for every type of investment, it is important to evaluate and consider the potential risk. In this context, the objective of this diploma thesis is to develop a methodological framework for risk assessment related to investments in energy efficiency projects in the building sector. Specifically, through a literature review, internal and external factors affecting investments on the improvement of the energy efficiency of buildings are identified, focusing on the factors related to risk. The most significant risk factors are selected and assessed using the multi-criteria method of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). After the assessment of the risk factors, the classification of potential investments is proposed through the multi-criteria method ELECTRE TRI, using the results of the AHP for calculating the weights of the criteria. These results show the importance of each risk factor and how much influence it has on the success of the investment. en
