heal.abstract	Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία επικεντρώνεται στον επανασχεδιασμό του Καρνάγιου της Λεμεσού σε ερευνητικό επίπεδο, ενσωματώνοντας τρεις βασικές χρήσεις που στοχεύουν στη διατήρηση της ναυπηγικής παράδοσης και την ενίσχυση της πολιτιστικής και εκπαιδευτικής ταυτότητας της πόλης. Αρχικά, η πρόταση περιλαμβάνει τη δημιουργία ενός πολιτιστικού κέντρου με μουσειακούς χώρους αφιερωμένους στην ιστορία της Λεμεσού και τη ναυπηγική τέχνη, η οποία κινδυνεύει να εξαφανιστεί. Παράλληλα, προτείνεται η ένταξη πανεπιστημιακών εγκαταστάσεων για το Τεχνολογικό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου (ΤΕΠΑΚ), καλύπτοντας το κενό της έλλειψης σχολής ναυπηγών στην πόλη, παρά τη μακρά ναυτική της παράδοση. Η τρίτη χρήση αφορά τη στήριξη των παραδοσιακών καραβομαραγκών, με τη δημιουργία εργαστηρίων που θα επιτρέπουν τη συνέχιση της τέχνης τους και τη μεταφορά της γνώσης στις επόμενες γενιές. Επιπλέον, περιλαμβάνεται η ανάπτυξη ενός υπεραστικού θύλακα στη δυτική πλευρά της πόλης, ο οποίος θα λειτουργεί ως πόλος έλξης για το κοινό, διαθέτοντας γραμμικό πάρκο, πλατείες, παιδότοπους και ένα σύστημα αλληλεπίδρασης των πολιτών με τη θάλασσα. Ο επαναπροσδιορισμός του Καρνάγιου προκύπτει ως απάντηση στην εξαφάνιση της ναυτικής κληρονομιάς και στη ραγδαία κάθετη ανάπτυξη της πόλης. Στόχος της πρότασης είναι η δημιουργία ενός χώρου που θα αναδύεται από την ιστορία της Λεμεσού και θα ανταποκρίνεται στις σύγχρονες ανάγκες της πόλης και των κατοίκων της.	el
heal.abstract	Thiw thesis focuses on the redesign of thw Karnagio of Limassol at the research level, incorporating three key functions aimed at preserving the city's shipbuilding tradition and strengthening its cultural and educational identity. Firstly, the proposal includes the creation of a cultural center with museum spaces dedicated to the history of Limassol and the art of shipbuilding, which is at risk of disappearing. At the same time, the integration of university facilities for the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) is suggested, addressing the absence of a naval architecture school in the city despite its long maritime tradition. The third function concerns the support of traditional shipbuilders, through the creation of workshops that will enable them to continue their craft and pass on their knowledge to future generations. Additionally, the proposal includes the development of an urban hub on the western side of the city, serving as a point of attraction for the public, featuring a linear park, squares, playgrounds and a system that enhances interaction between citizens and the sea. The redefinition of the Karnagio emerges as a res[ponse to the disappearance of Limassol's maritime heritage and the city's rapid vertical development. The goal of this proposal is to create a space that originates from the history of Limassol while addressing the city's contemporary needs and those of its residences.	en
