heal.abstract Optimising supply chains has become a critical factor in the modern globalised world. To address current challenges, such as inefficiency and lack of transparency, new technologies are being explored. This thesis presents a comprehensive analysis of Blockchain technology in optimising the supply chain. Starting from the case studies that have already taken place in this field and also taken into account literature and current trends, we move forward with the development of a file exchange platform. The proposed solution leverages the advantages of blockchain characteristics to address these challenges, facilitating transparent and immutable record-keeping, and also keeping the transaction flow fast and efficient. The implementation of blockchain is conducted using the Hyperledger Fabric platform, a product of the Linux Foundation, and its architecture and functionalities are thoroughly examined throughout this thesis. The final solution empowers supply chain administrators to construct a blockchain ecosystem comprising members who can transact files and documents through a web-based user interface. Using the web app, users can upload files, specify which members can access them by downloading, and determine whether the files can be re-uploaded. This functionality enables users to re-upload files for editing purposes, such as adding a signature, with all permitted members able to view the changes. Additionally, file owners can modify the list of permitted members for a specific file and retrieve previous versions in case of errors. This application provides a holistic solution to the file exchange system, addressing the demands of modern supply chains by facilitating fast transactions, secure data sharing, and flexible access control. Through a combination of theoretical analysis and practical experimentation, this research underscores the potential of blockchain in revolutionising supply chain management practices. en
