heal.abstract	Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία εκπονήθηκε στην Σχολή Αγρονόμων Τοπογράφων Μηχανικών-Μηχανικών Γεωπληροφορικής του ΕΜΠ στον Τομέα Γεωγραφίας και Περιφερειακού Σχεδιασμού για το Διεπιστημονικό Διατμηματικό Πρόγραμμα Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών στο γνωστικό πεδίο Γεωπληροφορική .Το περιεχόμενο ενασχόλησης της εν λόγω διπλωματικής είναι η ανάλυση του οικιστικού δικτύου στον Δήμο Δυτικής Λέσβου και η διερεύνηση χωροθέτησης των δημόσιων χώρων σε αυτόν. Έγινε η μελέτη των περιπτώσεων της Καλλονής και του Μολύβου. Αρχικά, καθορίζεται ο κύριος στόχος της εργασίας, ο οποίος είναι η βιώσιμη χωροθέτηση των δημοσίων χώρων στους οικισμούς. Στη συνέχεια, παρουσιάζεται το θεωρητικό υπόβαθρο της εργασίας για καλύτερη κατανόηση των όρων που θα χρησιμοποιηθούν. Ακολούθως, γίνεται ανάλυση των χαρακτηριστικών της περιοχής μελέτης, τα οποία θα επηρεάσουν την ανάλυση και τις παρεμβάσεις. Η Λέσβος, όπως και ο Δήμος Δυτικής Λέσβου, ενώ αποτελεί ένα ελληνικό νησί και ένας δήμος με εξαιρετική φυσική ομορφιά και πλούσια ιστορία, αντιμετωπίζει κοινωνικά και δημογραφικά προβλήματα. Η γεωγραφική της θέση συνέβαλε στη στενή σχέση με τη γειτονική Τουρκία, ενώ η ανοικοδόμηση του νησιού αποτελεί καίριο στοιχείο στην διατήρηση της ιστορικής και πολιτιστικής ταυτότητάς του. Παρά τα προηγούμενα, οικονομικά και εκπαιδευτικά προβλήματα έχουν προκαλέσει υποβάθμιση στο επίπεδο διαβίωσης. Το χαμηλό μορφωτικό επίπεδο, η κατάσταση δόμησης αλλά και ο συνεχώς μειωμένος πληθυσμός της περιοχής δημιουργεί το αίσθημα ενός μερικώς υποβαθμισμένου χώρου. Η άναρχη δόμηση συνεισφέρει στην αισθητή επιδείνωση του περιβάλλοντος. Ο τελικός στόχος της εργασίας είναι η ανάλυση της χωροθέτησης των δημόσιων χώρων στην Καλλονή και στον Μόλυβο και οι παρεμβάσεις που χρειάζονται για την ανάδειξη των μοναδικών χαρακτηριστικών και την ενίσχυση της κοινότητας μέσω της προώθησης πράσινων χώρων και της ενίσχυσης των κοινοτικών σχέσεων. Με αυτόν τον τρόπο, στοχεύει στο να καταστήσει το νησί και τους οικισμούς του ενεργούς συνεργάτες για την εξέλιξη τους στο μέλλον.	el
heal.abstract	The present thesis was prepared at the School of Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineering of the NTUA in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning for the Interdepartmental Master's Degree Programme in the field of Geoinformatics .The content of this thesis is the analysis of the residential network of the Municipality of West Lesvos and the investigation of the spatial planning of public spaces in it. Despite the above, economic and educational problems have caused a deterioration in living standards. The low level of education, the building situation and the constantly decreasing population of the area create the feeling of a partially degraded area. Unregulated construction contributes to the noticeable deterioration of the environment. The final objective of the paper is to analyse the layout of public spaces in Kalloni and Molyvos and the interventions needed to highlight the unique features and strengthen the community through the promotion of green spaces and the enhancement of community relations.
