heal.abstract In the present dissertation, a systematic study of the 3He-induced reactions and elastic scattering on 2H, 6Li, 7Li, 9Be, and 12C was carried out for the θ = 120°, 130°, 140°, 150°, 160°, and 170° backscattering detection angles and beam energies up to 6 MeV. The goal was the production of coherent differential cross-section datasets suitable for Ion Beam Analysis applications in fusion research. The study also entailed the validation of the experimentally determined datasets of 9Be and 12C through benchmarking measurements. In addition, a theoretical investigation concerning the 12C(3He,p0)14N reaction was performed via the R-Matrix theoretical framework. The aforementioned isotopes are essential for the study of the processes of erosion, deposition, and redeposition in the Plasma-Facing Components (PFCs). PFCs line the inside walls of fusion reactors and fulfill various instrumental operational roles. They typically contain or are coated with various light elements such as Li, Be, and C and their optimal condition is paramount for the safe operation of the reactors. The results of the present work will aid in the study of the Plasma – Wall interactions (PWIs) between the plasma fuel and the PFCs and can further be utilized in multiple other IBA applications. All cross-section measurements were implemented at the Tandem Dynamitron Accelerator facility of the Central Unit for Ion Beams and Radionuclides (RUBION) of the Ruhr University Bochum in Germany. The measurements for the validation of the experimental results were also carried out at the RUBION facility with some additional measurements being implemented at the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb, Croatia. With the exception of the 6Li and 7Li cases, all experimental results have been published in peer-reviewed journals. The determined cross-section datasets can be found in Appendix A. The present text provides detailed information for the motivation behind this work, the experimental setup and procedures employed as well as the data analysis methodologies that were followed for the cross-section and benchmarking measurements. Furthermore, the methodology for the theoretical investigation of the 12C(3He,p0)14N reaction along with the corresponding analytical results of the R-Matrix calculations are presented in a dedicated chapter. en
