heal.abstract	Αφορμή της παρούσας διπλωματικής αποτελούν τα πολύπλευρα ζητήματα που δημιουργεί η λειτουργία της τσιμεντοβιομηχανίας ΑΓΕΤ Βόλου, λόγω της εγγύτητάς της στον αστικό ιστό. Ταυτόχρονα, μια εγκατάσταση τέτοιας κλίμακας , δημιουργεί ανισότητες ανάμεσα στον ορισμό του βιώσιμου και βιοτικού επιπέδου της πόλης, απειλόντας τόσο το περιβάλλον, όσο και την υγεία των κατοίκων. Επομένως, το ζήτημα έχει λάβει πλέον κοινωνικές διαστάσεις, μετασχηματιζόμενο σε συλλογικό αίτημα για την προστασία της δημόσιας υγείας και την αναθεώρηση της σχέσης της πόλης με τη βιομηχανία. Η έρευνα αποσκοπεί στη μελέτη και επαναπροσδιορισμό των κτιριακών εγκαταστάσεων, μετά την μεταφορά του εργοστασίου, με σεβασμό στην ιστορική και αρχιτεκτονική τους αξία. Στόχος είναι η μετατροπή τους σε ένα σύνολο με κοινωνικό και πολιτισμικό χαρακτήρα, συμβατό με τις ανάγκες της σύγχρονης πόλης και των ανθρώπων της. Η πρόταση αφορά στη δημιουργία ενός πολυλειτουργικού συγκροτήματος, το οποίο περιλαμβάνει φοιτητικές εστίες, εγκαταστάσεις του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας με αμφιθέατρα, δημόσια βιβλιοθήκη, εργαστήρια χορού και μουσικής, δημόσια αγορά και μουσείο αφιερωμένο στη θάλασσα και τη ναυπηγική ιστορία του Βόλου. Η χωροθέτηση του λειτουργικού προγράμματος έχει γίνει με συνείδηση της ανάγκης για διαβάθμιση της ιδιωτικότητας των χρήσεων. Τα κτίρια διασυνδέονται μέσω εναέριων διαδρόμων, οι οποίοι παραπέμπουν στις υφιστάμενες γραμμές μεταφοράς υλικών του εργοστασίου, διατηρώντας την ιστορική μνήμη του τόπου.	el
heal.abstract	This diploma thesis is driven by the complex and multifaceted challenges posed by the current operation of the AGET cement industry in Volos, particularly due to its proximity to the urban fabric. A facility of such scale disrupts the city's equilibrium, creating disparities in the definition of sustainability and quality of life, while simultaneously endangering both the environment and public health. Consequently, the issue has acquired pronounced social dimensions, evolving into a collective demand for the protection of public well-being and a critical reassessment of the city’s relationship with industry. This research seeks to examine and reimagine the site following the factory's relocation, respecting the historical and architectural significance of the existing structures. The aim is to repurpose the industrial complex into a socially and culturally vibrant environment, responsive to the needs of the contemporary city and its citizens. The proposal envisions a multifunctional complex comprising student residences, academic facilities for the University of Thessaly, including lecture halls, a public library, studios for dance and music, a public market, and a museum dedicated to the sea and the maritime history of Volos. The spatial layout is organized according to a deliberate hierarchy of privacy and public access. Buildings are interconnected by elevated walkways—reminiscent of the site's original material transport lines—preserving and reinterpreting the site's industrial memory.	en
