heal.abstract	Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία εφορμάται από την επιθυμία διαφύλαξης της μνήμης και της επανερμηνείας της ταυτότητας της Λεμεσού. Η πόλη αντιμετωπίζεται ως ένα παλίμψηστο, ένα κολάζ, ένα πεδίο συνύπαρξης πολλών ιχνών και επιπέδων της ιστορίας, που ο σχεδιασμός οφείλει να αναγνωρίσει, να ερμηνεύσει και να νοηματοδοτήσει εκ νέου, προτείνοντας τις απαραίτητες μεταλλαγές. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, προτείνεται η συγκρότηση ενός νοητού άξονα επανεγγραφής της μνήμης, που συνδέει τρία σημεία όχι μόνο χωρικά αλλά και εννοιολογικά — αποκαλύπτοντας κρυμμένα στρώματα ιστορίας, ίχνη εμπειρίας και δυναμικά σημεία επαφής με το παρελθόν. Ο άξονας ορίζεται με γνώμονα τη συγκέντρωση τριών θεμελιωδών χαρακτηριστικών της πόλης, όπως τα περιγράφει ο Δεσποτόπουλος στην Ιδεολογική Δομή των Πόλεων: το πολιτιστικό, το ιερό και το συλλογικό. Οι περιοχές που επιλέγονται ενσωματώνουν στοιχεία ιστορικής μνήμης και λειτουργούν ως σταθερές αναφορές μέσα στον διαρκώς μεταβαλλόμενο αστικό ιστό της Λεμεσού. Οι τρεις κομβικές ζώνες που αναδεικνύονται είναι: η περιοχή εντός του Παραθαλάσσιου Πολυλειτουργικού Πάρκου, η περιοχή που περιλαμβάνει τον Καθεδρικό Ναό της Αγίας Νάπας και το Μεγάλο Τζαμί και η περιοχή της Δημοτικής Αγοράς. Η προτεραιότητα του σχεδιασμού δεν είναι η απλή αναφορά στο παρελθόν, αλλά ο επαναπροσδιορισμός του βιώματος του τόπου, ένα πέρασμα από την ανάμνηση στην πράξη, και από την πράξη στη σκέψη, ώστε η Λεμεσός να ξαναδιαβαστεί ως ένα ζωντανό αρχείο.	el
heal.abstract	The present thesis stems from the desire to safeguard memory and reinterpret the identity of Limassol. The city is approached as a palimpsest, a collage, a field where multiple traces and layers of history coexist—elements that design must recognize, interpret, and re-signify, while proposing the necessary transformations. Within this framework, the project introduces the formation of an imaginary axis of memory re-inscription, which connects three points not only spatially but also conceptually—revealing hidden layers of history, traces of experience, and dynamic points of contact with the past. The axis is defined on the basis of three fundamental characteristics of the city, as described by Despotopoulos in The Ideological Structure of Cities: the cultural, the sacred, and the collective. The selected areas embody historical memory and function as constant references within the ever-changing urban fabric of Limassol. The three key zones identified are: the area within the Seafront Multifunctional Park, the area encompassing the Cathedral of Agia Napa and the Grand Mosque, and the area of the Municipal Market. The priority of the design is not a mere reference to the past, but the redefinition of the lived experience of place—a passage from memory to action, and from action to thought—so that Limassol can be re-read as a living archive.	en
