heal.abstract	Η Λευκωσία, πρωτεύουσα της Κύπρου, αποτελεί πόλη μοναδικής ιστορικής και πολεοδομικής πολυπλοκότητας. Η γεωγραφική της θέση στο κέντρο της Μεσαορίας, μεταξύ Τροόδους και Πενταδακτύλου, την κατέστησε διαχρονικά πυρήνα εξουσίας και πολιτισμού. Οι διαδοχικές επιρροές —από την αρχαιότητα έως τη βρετανική περίοδο— διαμόρφωσαν ένα μωσαϊκό αστικού ιστού, με κυρίαρχο σύμβολο τα ενετικά τείχη του 16ου αιώνα. Τα γεγονότα του 20ού αιώνα, ιδιαίτερα η τουρκική εισβολή του 1974, οδήγησαν στη δημιουργία της Πράσινης Γραμμής και στη διχοτόμηση της πόλης. Η χαρτογραφική ανάλυση με εργαλεία όπως ο χάρτης Nolli και η θεωρία του Kevin Lynch ανέδειξαν τη χωρική ασυνέχεια αλλά και τις δυνατότητες επανασύνδεσης. Η SWOT ανάλυση αποκάλυψε ισχυρά στοιχεία, όπως η πολιτιστική κληρονομιά και η στρατηγική θέση, αλλά και αδυναμίες όπως η Νεκρή Ζώνη και η άναρχη ανάπτυξη. Οι ευκαιρίες συνδέονται με τη βιώσιμη κινητικότητα και την επανένωση, ενώ οι απειλές περιλαμβάνουν την απώλεια ταυτότητας και την κλιματική κρίση. Η Λευκωσία παραμένει πόλη αντιθέσεων, όπου το παρελθόν και το μέλλον συνυπάρχουν, προσφέροντας ένα ζωντανό πεδίο πολεοδομικής και κοινωνικής μετάβασης.	el
heal.abstract	Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, is a city of exceptional historical and urban complexity. Its location in the Mesaoria plain, between the Troodos and Pentadaktylos mountains, has made it a center of power and culture throughout history. Successive influences—from antiquity to the British period—have shaped a unique urban mosaic, dominated by the 16th-century Venetian walls. The political events of the 20th century, particularly the 1974 Turkish invasion, resulted in the creation of the Green Line and the city’s division. Mapping tools such as the Nolli map and Kevin Lynch’s theory revealed both spatial discontinuities and opportunities for reconnection. The SWOT analysis highlighted strengths such as cultural heritage and strategic position, along with weaknesses like the Buffer Zone and unplanned urban growth. Opportunities lie in sustainable mobility and potential reunification, while threats include loss of identity and climate challenges. Nicosia remains a city of contrasts, where past and future coexist, forming a living laboratory of urban and social transformation.	en
