dc.description.abstract	Ο πολεοδομικός σχεδιασμός έχει ως στόχο την αναβάθμιση της ποιότητας ζωής, καθώς επηρεάζει την ανάπτυξη του χώρου και κατά συνέπεια τα κοινωνικοοικονομικά χαρακτηριστικά της περιοχής όπου γίνεται η πολεοδομική παρέμβαση. Σκοπός της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι ο πολεοδομικός σχεδιασμός τμήματος του Δήμου Γεροσκήπου της Επαρχίας Πάφου στην Κύπρο. Η εικόνα εγκατάλειψης και μαρασμού που παρουσιάζει η περιοχή, καθιστά επιτακτική την αναβάθμισή της μέσω του πολεοδομικού σχεδιασμού καθώς αποτελεί τουριστικό προορισμό λόγω της παραλίας, η οποία εκτείνεται κατά μήκος της περιοχής. Μέσω του σχεδιασμού αυτού προτείνονται λύσεις αναβάθμισης της περιοχής, οι οποίες έχουν σαν στόχο την ανάδειξη και βελτίωση της εικόνας που παρουσιάζει σήμερα η περιοχή με παράλληλη βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζωής όχι μόνο των κατοίκων αλλά και των επισκεπτών. Τέλος, ο σχεδιασμός παρουσιάζεται στο Google Earth όπου φαίνονται οι ρυμοτομικές και οι οικοδομικές γραμμές καθώς επίσης και οι χρήσεις γης όπως αυτές καθορίζονται με το σχεδιασμό.	el
dc.description.abstract	Urban’s planning aim is to upgrade the quality of life as it affects the development of the area and consequently the socioeconomic characteristics of the area in which an urban intervention is taking place. The purpose of this thesis is the urban planning of a department of the Municipality of Yeroskipou in Paphos, Cyprus. This region presents a picture of neglection and wilting which makes it imperative to upgrade through the planning process since it is a tourist destination because of the beach which stretches along the area. Solutions are proposed through the above urban planning in order to upgrade the area, which are aimed to promote and improve today’s image of the region while improving the quality of life not only of the residents but the visitors too. Eventually, the urban planning is presented in Google Earth showing the urban and building lines and the land uses as defined by the urban planning.	en
