dc.description.abstract	Ο στόχος της παρούσας διπλωματικής είναι διπλός: αφενός η πλήρης καταγραφή και περιγραφή του συστήματος διαχείρισης απορριμμάτων ενός συγκεκριμένου Δήμου που επιλέχθηκε προς μελέτη, στην προκειμένη ο Δήμος αυτός ήταν ο Δήμος της Καλλιθέας, και αφετέρου η κατάρτιση ενός πρότυπου οδηγού – πλάνου Διαχείρισης απορριμμάτων (waste management plan) το οποίο θα μπορεί να χρησιμοποιήσει ο οποιοσδήποτε δήμος για μια πλήρη, ευέλικτη και γρήγορη καταγραφή του συστήματος Διαχείρισης στερεών αποβλήτων του, των εξόδων και των εσόδων του με την εισαγωγή όλων εκείνων των παραμέτρων που επηρεάζουν τις διαδικασίες που ακολουθούνται και τις αποφάσεις που λαμβάνονται και μέσω των οδηγούμαστε στην ανάπτυξη και την αξιολόγηση εναλλακτικών επενδυτικών προτάσεων, με σκοπό τόσο την οικονομικότερη όσο και μια πιο περιβαλλοντικά ευαίσθητη, πιο κοντά στις επιταγές της Ε.Ε., λειτουργία του συστήματος.	el
dc.description.abstract	The purpose of this thesis is double: firstly a complete description and delineation of the solid waste management system of a specific municipality of Athens (Municipality of Kalithea), which will be our case study. On the other hand this thesis aims as well at providing help on a proper and complete compilation of a waste management plan Guide, which can and will be used by any municipality for a quick and easy recording of its waste management procedures, its incomes and expenses by simply inputting all those variables that affect the decisions that are made regarding this sector. Additionally, taking the data and the characteristics of the municipality that the user inserts into account the guide will be able to financially evaluate and compare some specific investments such as the need of additional bins, which PAYT model (Pay As You Throw) is suitable for the municipality, should it ever consider of adopting such a model, the viability of the application of a composting program and the viability of the so called “4 bins model” which separates the waste in 4 streams (organics, paper, various recyclables, and mixed) before collection.	en
