heal.abstract |
In this paper a general method of accurate solution of the problem of determining the most economical mixture of cement raw materials is developed, by the use of mathematical programming. This method provides the optimum solution in contrast to some existing empirical methods, which are based on the arbitrary selection of certain parameters of the problem and therefore do not necessarily produce the optimum solution. Two solutions are offered; an approximate one in which the cost of burning the product is not taken into account in the process of optimization and an accurate one in which it is. In the first case the problem is linear and is resolved by the use of linear programming while in the second it is non-linear and the solution requries the application of non-linear programming. © 1977. |
