heal.abstract	For the problem of an infinite plane containing a smooth hole (which by application of conformal mapping reduces to the unit circle) a method is proposed for the determination of stresses and displacements on the boundary of the hole for the first, second and mixed problems without prior determination of the Kolosov-Muskhelishvili potentials φ(z), Ψ(z). Considerable simplification of the final analytical expressions is the gain for sacrificing the complete information afforded by the (existing) solutions over the entire plane. © 1981 Springer-Verlag.	en
