The problem of two bonded dissimilar materials with a central crack along their common interface and subjected to biaxial load at infinity is examined by giving, in a closed form, the accurate expressions for stresses, equally valid everywhere, both near and far from the crack tip region. These expressions for stresses are compared, by constructing the respective isochromatic fringe patterns, to approximate expressions based on the singular solution, improved by taking into account the non-singular terms due to the biaxial-load parameter. The significant differences between respective fringe patterns were studied by giving the relative errors for each isochromatic fringe. |
