In this paper, based on the principle of virtual work, an elasticity solution for planar circular continuous beams on n-supports of known or elastic deflections is presented. The loading consists of concentrated and uniformly distributed forces and couples, normal to the plane of the beam. The influences of shearing forces and torsional moments are also included in the analysis. The problem is associated with two [( n - 3) 2] × 1 vectorial equations (independent of each other) with respect to the structure redundants (torsional and bending moments of the supports of odd order). The aforementioned solution methodology is successfully demonstrated through several numerical results. © 1986. |
