Three procedures for generating monthly potential evapotranspiration values are discussed and applied to four meteorological stations in Greece. Procedures examined were the Thomas-Fiering model, the Two-Tier model and the method of Fragments. Based on the results, the Two-Tier model is recommended for the stochastic generation of monthly potential evapotranspiration values when modeled independently of rainfall. Such a procedure, therefore, is suitable for use in arid and semi-arid regions. |
