The mode of operation of the very efficient SiC paper preionisers has been investigated in detail, in gas laser discharges. Comparative performance and operating regime results are given for three different types of preionisers, namely SiC paper, semiconductors and dielectric corona, employed in optimised capacitor transfer TEA N2 and CO2 lasers. © 1987. |
