By means of interfacial in situ polymerization poly(hexamethylene adipamide) was deposited on chrysotile fibres to ensure a strong interphase bond. The filler treated fibres were incorporated into epoxy resin using dibutyl phthalate as diluent to overcome viscosity effects and the resulting composite material was examined. Transition properties were considered while varying fibre volume fraction and concentration of the polyamide coating. © 1987. |
