heal.abstract |
The nonlinear and buckling analysis of a simple two-bar rigid-jointed frame, subjected to a uniformly distributed load acting on the horizontal member, is presented, based on the closed-form solution of the differential equations describing the elastica of the bars. The method of analysis has the advantage of being exact. The evaluation of the critical buckling load of the frame was based on the parametric expression of the nonlinear system of equations, describing the general solution of the equilibrium differential equations, the corresponding compatibility conditions and the respective boundary conditions. |
